    This 2.5 Amp Corded 5 in. Random Orbit Palm Sander is a powerful sander. This finish orbital sander has the features you are looking for in this kind of tool.

    First off as I said, it has a 2.5 Amp motor you can feel once its revived up from a soft start to prevent swirls. A first for me is the adjustable speed control which allows you to set the rotating speed up to 13000 RPM's. In spite of the power it feels comfortable with little vibration which is nice for my hands that have become stiff with time.

    It takes a standard 5-inch disk(12 included 4-80, 4-120 and 4-240 mesh sandpaper), can handle the adhesive backs, too. Easy to grab also.

    The dust box on this sander works great for my needs. The weak link on sanders in general is dust gets into the mechanism and burns them out. One critical part is the on/off switch and did a nice job of protecting this from happening.

    The rocker switch looks well sealed as does the entire sander. The 6 speed knob is easy to adjust when running with one finger. As to trying it out it worked as expected with a light touch that left a good job behind. It was easy to hold, much less vibration than others I've owned.

    Works great, used to sand deck prior to painting. Nice unit for the price, heavy duty unit should last a long time.

    I use then thing allot. the dust collection does suck, but as a sander it does exactly what its supposed to do. It has 6 speeds and I find it does the best work at setting 3. I have done allot of sanding with it that past few weeks I have had it. if I want a sander to make quick work I should buy a large belt sander. But overall it works great. the price was great too. its definitely a Great starter palm sander.

    Well made. Great sander. Works great. I work on and refinish guitars. Bought this sander to sand down the old finish on the guitars and it not only does the job but works great. No complaints. Very satisfied with this purchase.

    I found that this sander works very well, especially considering the budget price. The sandpaper attached well and stayed put. Comfortable to use. I found that the dust collection worked surprisingly well, and I was expecting it to not do much at all. The bag is a bit hard to clean out completely, but for this price point I didn't think it was much of an issue. The oblong shape of the dust outlet would require an adaptor of some sort for my central shop dust collector, but for my occasional use it is easier to wear a mask and skip the hassle of connecting to the central vac anyway.
    The variable speed worked well and overall it was fairly quiet - quieter than a detail sander that I have.
    Good budget sander for the beginner to mid-level woodworker.

    Good small sander and with a good price. The setup is simple and straightforward so I was able to get sanding immediately to see how it worked. The plank of wood I worked on came out feeling very smooth but it's important to note that it works best on smaller pieces of work. If you have a large project, it may take you more time. That being said, it will work on those projects which I see as a bonus. Thankfully the 6 available speeds may help reduce that time.

    We had a pretty bad house fire. After the roof was replaced, new ceilings put in and walls replaced, I ripped out all the carpets to the wood floor. You can imaging what my floors looked like. I scrapped them with a razor blade then decided to sand them. I am 64 years old and weigh 122 so I was a bit intimated by a huge floor sander. Believe it or not I bought this little sander and on my hands and knees sanded all my wood floors! Our house is over 100 years old so I didn't think they would come out perfect but I am pleased with how they did come out . This little floor sander held up and is still going!
