5.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Performance: Stripped Bolts Left and Right
Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2024
I wasn't really impressed by these hex keys. They worked okay at first, but they ended up stripping my bolts when I was tightening them. There were numerous times where I had to use a bolt extractor to get the bolts out because these keys were stripping bolts left and right. The T-handle design and durable construction seemed promising, but in practice, they didn't deliver.Despite the heat-treated alloy steel shafts and plastic grips that were supposed to add comfort and turning power, I found them to be quite unreliable. The bonus storage rack is a nice touch, but it doesn't make up for the tool's poor performance. In the end, I switched to Wera Hex Keys and noticed a significant improvement. Overall, I can't recommend these hex keys based on my experience.
BONUS STORAGE RACK: Easy to mount on wall or bench
BLACK OXIDE FINISH: The outer layer of these hex keys resists corrosion

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for guitars!

Got it so I can adjust Allen sockets on my guitar better than the L shaped one. The grip makes it much easier to hold & control. Love the holder as well. Great for organization.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done

These aren't what I would call "fine quality tools" by any stretch, but for an occasional light use set they get the job done.

The handles are ok, they just don't exude quality. There are some poorly cleaned up molding seams, and I doubt they would hold up to abuse like trying to apply extra leverage for stuck bolts. Some of the smaller shafts are a little bit bent or warped, but it doesn't really affect their usability.

I like that they come with a metal stand, however it's kind of a confused design. It has keyhole slots for hanging, but if you tried to hang it on a wall, the wrenches would be horizontal, and therefore easy to knock out. (first photo) Further, the printing that indicates the size would be facing straight down and impossible to read unless you are on the floor. You could probably make it work, but it just doesn't seem very well thought out. Maybe the idea is to bolt it to a table top?

It would have been better if they had made the stand a little wider and put the slots on the side so you could easily bolt it to the wall and still be able to read the sizes while having the wrenches much more secure. What I will probably end up doing is making a spacer block from wood and drill some holes through the metal to mount it. Seems silly when a slightly different design could have made it unnecessary.

Overall though, I think they are a good value for the money. I'm going to be using them for light duty applications, so they are good enough for that purpose.

Update: Thought I would give an update a year and a half later. As suggested in my original review, I ended up fabricating a way to mount it to the wall. Rather than a wood spacer, I designed and 3D-printed a mount that clips in to the pegboard and uses the existing mounting holes in the wrench stand. Works great, and if I need to relocate it it's easy to move. (see photo)

The wrenches themselves are holding up fine. These are probably the most used set I have now mainly because I have them in a convenient location.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid base, odd mounting
Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2024
Didn't notice when ordering but the base that holds these is metal, not plastic, which I was expecting given the price. Sort of odd the way they mount on a wall or board; the holes the way they are drilled leave the label pointing straight down and the handles facing toward you. Easy enough to fix with a couple self-tapping screws, though, and mounted it so the label with the sizes is readable without risking neck injury.

They are not horrible but not great at the same time. They do fit bolts perfectly but the machining and hadle quality is lacking. I'm not sure they will last long as they don't seem to be full tank and the handles are made out of a very cheap, poorly casted plastic. Good for budget tools, but would not suggest for a career mechanic.

I use these for working on my motorcycle. Obviously, you can use them for a lot of other things. They’re a total game changer when it comes to needing this type of tool instead of using the L wrenches, these are way easier.
