I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Elin Hildebrand's books!! I have all of them and I even go back to read some of them multiple times! That being said, I don't know that I will be re-reading this one
The main character in this novel has gone through some very disappointing, hurtful events in her life, and now needs to make some major changes. She decided to take a break from her every day life and try out this thing she had read about online. She decided to host a weekend with the women that she had considered her best/closest friends through each "stage" of her life. She invites each one of these women and her daughter to her beach house! I have to honestly say that I was kinda shocked by some of the behavior from some of the women, especially since they've been invited to such a lovely weekend and they are being doted on! Wow! I'm not sure if Hildebrand meant for these women to come across as rude and entitled, but they definitely sounded that way. I really wished the main character would have called everyone out on their bad behavior and thrown them all out and started over with a self indulgent weekend! In the end, Hildebrand resolved any and all conflicts and wrapped it up nice and neat.
It wasn't a complete disaster, but it definitely does not meet up with the expectations I have when I see the name Elin Hildebrand on a novel.
