Whoever heard of a homeless ballerina?
Everyone in my life has always disappointed me, but NHL hockey star Camden James says he never will.
We meet, and then in a single blink, he’s made me his roommate, promising me I don’t have to worry about anything ever again.
They call him a hero, and that’s what I desperately need.
I remind myself it’s all temporary. That I shouldn’t get used to it.
But he has other ideas.
Camden tells me he’s obsessed, that he’s going to change my life, that he’ll never let me go.
But as more time passes, I wonder if it’s going to take a villain to get me my happily ever after.
And Camden James just might be the right man for the role.
*Note: Camden James is a morally grey antihero who is obsessed with his girl and will do anything to keep her. This is a darker hockey romance.

Idk what C.R. Jane is putting in these books but I laughed, cried and felt all the emotions I didn’t expect to feel.
Ana’s story is so heartbreaking and the way she lets her guard down and lets Camden swoop in and save her despite YEARS of being deceived and disappointed by the people who were supposed to care for her was swoonworthy!!
Now let’s get into the real fun…..the circle of trust and their text messages and their banter is truly what makes these stories so absolutely hilarious. These men are just so ridiculously comical on their own but together it’s just pure chaos and I can’t get enough of it. We can’t forget about Mimi and her dogs! We should all strive to be like Mimi when we’re older!!
Seriously if you haven’t read this series yet, you are so missing out!
!
Each story (minus Ari’s’, sorry) gets better and better. This world she has created is phenomenal! I just cannot get enough. I’m totally excited to read about Walker’s brother next. But I digress.
I love the realness of the story. How we got to deal with homelessness the actual deep emotions that come along with it the fears, the worthlessness they determination to do better for yourself and or your children all of it. Especially now during the whole holiday season where this is a real thing happening in my world as we speak. Experiencing the determination of Anastasia and so many others that were in this book, dealing with homelessness and shelters and soup, kitchens, and time limits and fears and constraints was eye-opening. That’s one thing you can definitely say about this author, is that she will make sure that you have a bit of the real world interwoven into her stories to give you an idea of what’s really happening and I love that.
Anastasia and Camden are of course two of my favorites. They complemented each other so very well that I’m still in love with the both of them. Of course we had they Mary Band of truth circle boys as well and their partners. I could not stop laughing! These guys are everything and I can’t wait for Logan‘s book which seems like it’s going to join the ranks of an ultimate immediate favorite.
This story had it all as usual there was tons of love, respect, honor, spoon, worthy romance, and of course, tons and tons and tons of spice. That is a given with anything that C. R. Jane writes! Add to it one of my all-time favorite narrators Troy Duran and Alexis Paige whose quickly becoming one of my faves as well, and you have a banger that immediately goes to the top of my favorites list.
All in all, this book was a great addition to the saga that we know of as the plucking wrong series. Love these guys love these stories love this Author can’t wait to read more!
Camden “Hero” James is has so much “daddy energy” I could literally feel it through the pages!!!
I mean, Ch.19 brought me to my knees!
He’s all hearts and reasonable lover boy until Anastasia comes along. I still don’t get how CR Jane can make these unhinged hockey players seem so cute and obsessed with their woman but crazy at the same time.
I love that he’s also affected by Linc, but F!! I know I am too!
Ana is brave, strong and amazing for just keeping up with her life after everything she endured. She remained me so much of Olivia and I love that they accepted her so easily! She is the perfect person for Camden!! He can be a hero to her all day long.
I can’t write a Pucking Wrong series book review without mentioning the Circle of Trust. If you love the circle, you will not be disappointed. I mean!!! I would really love it if we can just get a book full of these text messages!!! I need them ASAP!!! The guys are so funny and I died of laughter every time i read on of them!
Ohhh!!! Let’s please don’t forget the beautiful soul that is Geraldine and her dogs are my hero!!!
I have a huge book headache now and don’t know what to do with myself!!! It would be nice to have some of those breakfast burritos!!!!
As always, well done CR Jane! I can’t wait for Longan!!! He will need to do a lot to top the Circle of Trust craziness!
Having said that, I think this book was a better balance. Yes, the MMCs interactions were still a little juvenile and I found myself wanting to skip over a lot of the text conversations on the circle of trust group chat, but I felt like it carried the balance of the first book and that made it more enjoyable. It was sweetness with a bite of darkness and I liked that.
The MMC is over the top in love with the FMC and willing to do crazy things to get her. I liked the FMCs grit and determination despite all that she faced in her life. Her motivations made sense, her hesitancy to believe someone when her life had been filled with betrayal and hurt felt real and heartbreaking.
Overall, a very enjoyable read and it makes me want to continue on with the series.
