About this item

The cringiest book you'll ever read....

Acacia is a horny, but virgin, gym receptionist obsessed with watching her well-endowed boss do his jump rope routines. When she finally decides to take matters into her own hands, her failing attempts at seduction leave much to be desired.

Callum has been trying to keep professional boundaries with the quirky girl leading his front desk. But when she crosses the line first, all bets are off and he's going to show her what he's willing to do to keep her.

This story was a cute work place romance. I mean I don’t blame Acacia for staring at her boss while he’s doing his workout. Especially since it’s jump roping. Acacia is so adorably awkward and innocent, except for daydreaming about her boss and what he’s packing. Special shoutout to Malissa for being that friend to both Acacia and Callum that gives them the push to finally take the plunge. Also got to give her a shoutout for all the new sayings I now have. That plus the internal (sometimes external) dialogue of our mcs have also added to my vocabulary. My friends and family are going to be so thankful for that. Such a fun read.

3.0 out of 5 stars I nice break from dark romance

I can certainly tell when the author's writing style is more femme or masc. I preference my MM romance with a femme style. What do I mean by that? I like seeing the build-up between characters through lots of inner dialogs. I like the descriptions are steamier and more seductive. While a masc tone is almost aims for a horrified element. I did enjoy this book enough to glance at a few other titles by this author but I'd most likely save the reading for when I need a certain type of book for a challenge.

Well this one didn’t make me want to barf, but the second hand embarrassment nearly killed me. Idk if I can keep reading the DNF series.

4.0 out of 5 stars What a fun read filled with cringey goodness

There’s something different about reading all the cringe on purpose. To know that the author used all the weird slang terms for body parts and bodily functions with the intent to be cringey made it so much fun to read. This is going to be a fun series for sure!

Loved Callum and Acacia as characters. Their boss/employee romance was sweet and super spicy! Definitely recommend reading this. I’ve also never read anything from this author so I’m excited to read more and see what their books are like without the cringe.

So I entered another reading slump and decided to try the DNF series again with the second book, bouncy. I cringed the entire time while reading. I didn’t want to have to face the cringing that came with this series but for the sake of my reading, I took the chance. The constant change in referring to the male and female genitalia made me gag a bit and cringe so much!!! If it wasn’t for that, this would’ve been a 4⭐️ rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Winner!

Drum roll, please. The winner of all things cringe is Author B. Sobjakken. I’m not sure she wants it, but I’m giving it to her because “Bouncy” had it all. I’ve read my fair share of cringy books that were not intentional, and I wanted to DNF or did. “Bouncy” is part of the DNF Series, in which every short story by various authors is intentionally written with cringy themes. Yes, intentionally. I thought I was up for the test with “Bouncy.” After several pauses, deep breaths, palms to the forehead, and breaks, I did get through the story. I’d call that a success.

Acaia—yes, that’s her name—and Callum work together at a gym. The dialogue between them and Acaia and her friend Malissa—yes, with an “A” —will make readers laugh. B. Sobjakken’s sense of humor and creativity shines through in “Bouncy,” which I love.
