About this item

Jenna
On the outside, I look like any other new college graduate, searching for a job and trying to find my own way.

In reality, I am one of the world’s most notorious hackers, my best kept secret until my stepbrother blackmails me into finding dirt on his former business partner. With no other choice, I’ve taken an undercover role at the Ryan Anders’ company.

Our attraction is instant, but when Ryan begins seducing me, I can’t help but wonder if it’s real, or all part of the bigger scheme at play.

Blackmailing the Mogul is a fast-paced, ferocious instalove story featuring a new college graduate and the sculpture-like man she’s tasked with taking down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stepbrothers can really be jerks sometimes.

Jenna's stepbrother Henry blackmails her into going to work at his former partner's firm, to uncover corruption. The way Henry tells it, Ryan quietly bought shares of the stock and then falsified information of corruption to oust him, and Henry wants revenge.

    Henry is dumb.

Sending his stepsister into what he thinks is the lion's den doesn't work out well for him. Even though Ryan is a jerk to Jenna at first, and figures out exactly who she is early on, he can't help falling for her. So what are they to do? You'll have to read the book to find out.

I did enjoy this story, but there some grammatical errors, such as mixing present and past tense, using the wrong name, missing punctuation, and wrong words or wrong forms of words. Even so, I see things like that in books published by huge companies, so I didn't take any stars off for that.

Looking forward to the next in the series of the Emerald City Billionaires!

The story starts off well, but then falls flat. She's a renowned hacker, but she can't get into his systems until he deliberately gives her his computer... And there are some editing and plot errors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Jenna and Ryan Vs the jerk stepbrother

I really enjoyed this story. The author did a great job developing the characters and the conflict as well as the romance. I had issues with the number of grammatical errors, and especially her mixing up the names of the male characters. This was confusing and forced me to reread for clarification. I was also disappointed that she did follow up regarding Henry. The author led us to believe that the feud wasn’t over and that Henry was likely to try and retaliate, considering Jenna’s fear, but she left that in the air.

4.0 out of 5 stars CEO and the Assistant

He is a self made billionaire, CEO of his own company. She is his ex partner’s step sister and a hacker. Her brother blackmails her into going undercover in the company to find proof of corruption. She finds that all is not what she was told and the sexy CEO has some powerful chemistry with her. This is a short story format so you do not expect to get as much detail as a novel. The character development was pretty good giving a strong sense of not only the mains, but the antagonist and Aunt Hilda. The storyline was well laid out and interesting. Things got a little rushed at a couple of the transitions. Their first time together got a little rushed at the end of the scene and veered a little off romance/passion by trying to cram too much in that it felt forced. The remainder of the story played out well to the HEA and beyond to the epilogue which was very sweet.

Jenna Henson is the step sister to Henry Henson. Henry has always bullied her and treated her badly, he has also been kicked out of the company he was working for by Ryan Anders. Henry blackmails Jenna to go into Ryans company and find evidence of corruption. Only problem to this situation is Ryan figures out the plan almost instantly. This is an instalove story so there are times it is very rushed but in the end Henry does not succeed and Jenna finds a HEA with Ryan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Falling in love with the one you’re supposed to take down? Oops

This was a good book. Jenna is forced to try to find incriminating evidence against Ryan by her step brother Henry. And when she first meets Ryan, he is condescending and arrogant so she feels okay about this. But eventually her feelings change and now she’s trapped. Ryan realizes that Jenna is Henry’s step sister from the beginning and suspects something shady is going on. He figures out part of the plan and swears he going to get revenge on both of them. But his feelings change too.
This was a good instalove story about two people who are forced to be enemies but they don’t want to be. It was entertaining and steamy. I personally just struggled feeling the connection between them. But that is just me. Please read it and decide for yourself.
I did receive an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
