One of the best ongoing LitRPG stories today. The author is extremely creative in their crafting and ongoing expansion of the progression mechanics together with the varied and escalating threats. Characters, world-building, pacing and prose are all excellent. A must-read for fans of the genre.

The story has been great and a nice and different take on the isekai genre, it has great character writing that is slow but very realistic and feels true to the situation. The story also does really well at having slight comedy and jokes to keep the book from being too serious but not enough jokes to ruin the tone or atmosphere of the story.

Fun story, but absolutely bottom tier prose and dialog. The author’s idea of clever and compelling style is realizing he has “don’t” twice in one sentence and changing the first instance to “do not”.

This is a copy of my review from the first book:

"Nathaniel (the protagonist) might have personality issues, but he's written very well and he's interesting. I read stories like these to see people facing adversity and adventure. He (and the supporting cast) are facing unusual and even cruel circumstances. It's such a fun read seeing them take it all on.

I'll take a strongly written character and characterization over a bland Main Character any day. This story rocks, and the sequel is equally great. "

I'll only add that this story continues to deliver, and even the supporting cast is coming into it better and better.

5.0 out of 5 stars great!

This is a great second book that is well-written and well-paced. Dialog and action are woven through advancement, and the main character is interestingly sociopathic or something similar, particularly with his skill. He is frustrating in a way that means I care. Nice work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Third book isn't out yet and I YELLED "What??"

I love these books. This one in particular was exceptionally enjoyable. I feel like we are learning a lot about the side characters and I am now fully attached to them. The fact that Nathaniel is getting as strong as he is by observing the world around him is what makes this series so enjoyable. His personality really fits his style/build and it's a lot more believable because his method is spelled out. Love the monsters, love the new floor, and I was so so excited to read the next one. I clicked on the icon of it like 5 times before I decided to Google it and found out it will be released Dec 4th... And then I added it to my actual calendar. I have NEVER done that before. I don't know how to rave without giving spoilers, I'm terrible at it, but I can't recommend this series enough. READ IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A new take on a story

I enjoy this story and the main character has a different spin on how to do things. He comes across as an arrogant loner, but that is not reality. He is refreshingly honest in his self appraisal and works to grow. Unlike many one dimensional characters, his self reflection and honesty are refreshing. I have thoroughly enjoyed following his progress.

The author has included enough background and history to explain why he is the way he is, and his continual grow, while not trivial or easy, has been fun to follow.

Sometimes the writing is just a bit quirky and other times it feels like it's translated from Chinese or Korean or something. Just very unnatural sentences that take you out of the flow every couple of pages
