Did I enjoy the book? Best one of the series
Would you read this book again? Definitely
Will you read from this author again? Any day

Throughout this series we have really seen Catharina Maura’s writing continue to grow and bring us amazing plots with emotional angst that breaks your heart and puts it back together again in the best way. She has become an automatic buy for me. I will read whatever this woman writes.
I have waited so long for Sierra’s story and when we found out it was going to be Xavier I could not wait to get my hands on this book. It did not disappoint at all. We have all loved Sierra in every one of her brother’s books and I thought I would miss her being a Windsor, but her becoming a Kingston was the best story out of all of them. Xavier was perfection. I love a boy obsessed with his woman and even after reading the whole Windsor series I did not know how long he had been pining for Sierra.
I love how all the secondary characters are rooting for the main couple to succeed. They try to help them along the way. We get little cameos from all our favorite characters and we meet new favorites that I can’t wait to hear more about.
Mrs. Maura has single-handedly gotten me hyped for a book about Valeria. I am obsessed with her story and I want to know everything and I NEED to know how she gets her HEA. We know it will be juicy coming from Catharina Maura. I can’t wait to see all the Kingstons in the future and maybe a cameo from my new favorite couple.
Just a side note because I know it bugs some people. This doesn’t matter much to me, but there were many grammatical mistakes. Enough that by the end I was like this needs to be read over again. Doesn’t affect my rating, but it was getting annoying by the end. I definitely plan to buy a print copy for my shelves, but will wait because I’m hoping they go back through and fix some of the grammatical mistakes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly anticipated story!

I looked forward to Sierra and Xavier's story since the first book for this series (Wrong Bride) and the main characters thenselves have mostly lived up to my expectations - the love and dedication that was veiled by hatred shone through beautifully in this book. I loved the backstory of how Xavier fell in love with Sierra, how long he's been waiting for her to feel the same. The banter between the characters was what I came to expect after reading about them through all the books. Their love was intense and going well for the first half of the book.......but then it kinda fell a bit flat for me....

The timeline seems to move extremely fast - weeks go by at a time and there would be no resolution to the intense feelings... all those shifts in emotions are only punctuated by traumatic experiences in between. How does Xavier go from shutting Sierra out completely for months, deciding that she is better off without him, to borderline harrassing her to accept him back into her life again after a life changing event?? His self-destructive thoughts haven't been resolved so how is he able to shift so easily to deciding that he needs to be there for her after rejecting her for so long?..... and how could Sierra pull the same thing on him after suffering the cold shoulder from him without a discussion of how she felt?....She didn't have to forgive him but she didn't lay her thoughts and feelings out for him either.... kinda hypocritical, in my opinion.

The interactions between Sierra and her in-laws seems "forced". They seem to have developed a bond in an unbelievably fast rate, given how much time they had with each other... at least it was not well described of how they became so close in the book. Some of the actions they decided to take feels almost cruel towards Xavier in favor of Sierra and I find it to be a bit unsettling. It's one thing to love your daughter in-law but it's another thing to leave your own son out in the cold, literally, when he's trying so hard.

Besides that, the story is worth the read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I’m Going To Read This Again and Again and Again!

Readers waiting to read “The Devious Husband” will not be disappointed. They’ll likely be feverishly annotating their fragile hearts away that they’ll run out of those colorful tabs and highlighter ink. I highly advise carving out time for this read so you’re not disturbed by interruptions.

“The Devious Husband” is the last book in the Windsor Series.  The story encapsulates every bit of the romance, angst, spice, groveling, and touches of humor that readers can expect from author Catharina Maura.  It was so well written that it met all the expectations that I had built in my head, which is no easy task.

From Xavier and Sierra’s rivalry antics, cameos of previous characters, a teensy tiny smidge of darkness, and some bang-out romance—Xavier fully knows how to woo a girl in his unique way—I loved “The Devious Husband.” What a way to end a series. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next!
