About this item

From USA Today bestselling author of The Highland Fling comes a brand new romantic comedy about a desperate billionaire seeking to find a fiancée. This modern day take on Pretty Woman is brilliantly clever and hilariously page-turning.

How did you two meet?

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow.

My meet cute (well not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

He was stomping around the block like some sort of gorgeous ogre, mumbling about a business deal gone wrong and attempting to finagle his way out of it.

And that's when we bumped into each other.
There were no sparks.
Not even a hint of blossoming love.

But next thing I knew, I was scarfing down free chips and guac, listening to this man lay out all of his problems which led to his big ask . . . he wanted me to be his Vivian Ward, you know, from Pretty Woman--minus the frisky behavior.

We're talking about living in a mansion, intimate double dates, and pretending we were head over heels in love . . . and engaged. Can you imagine?

The absolute audacity.

But people do crazy things when they’re desperate. And I reeked of desperation. So, I struck up a deal.

My one big mistake, though . . . big . . . HUGE? I accidentally fell for the incomparable Huxley Cane.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Book!

I read this in two days, it’s definitely one that leaves you wanting to read more. It has some really funny parts and some steamy parts. I wasn’t ready for every chapter to switch narrators back and forth but got used to it a ways into the book and ended up liking that. I wanted to give it 5 stars but took away one star for it being slightly predictable and similar to other story lines. I also didn’t care for the cartoon images every few chapters. I feel it took away from the real ness and my ability to connect to the characters. Overall I really liked this book and the way it was written and will be reading more from this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing surprising, but a fun read

Do all rom/coms follow a formula? Yes, because otherwise they wouldn’t be rom/coms. Does that make A NOT SO MEET CUTE by Megan Quinn totally predictable? Sure. The basic plot and ending of a rom/com is pretty much locked in. The real question is; what does the author do with the basic formula? Megan Quinn takes the idea and runs with it, putting her own spin on every angle. I doubt anyone will be surprised by the things that happen in A NOT SO MEET CUTE, but that doesn’t make the book any less enjoyable. If you are looking for a good rom/com, read Megan Quinn’s A NOT SO MEET CUTE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hux and Lottie

This book was so good. The perfect mix of funny, serious, sweet and spicy. I read these books out of order. You can read them all as stand-alone but I feel like reading them in order is the way to go. Huxley and Lottie had a really good story and I laughed out loud so many times. I loved the progress they each made throughout the book and growth they had together and individually. I don’t want to give to many spoilers but some of the stuff they had to go through were hilarious and I would have cracked with the first class ????

Overall a really great read 10/10 recommend reading for a good rom-com.

I really wanted to love it since a lot of the ppl I follow on instagram said it was great, but I’m really tired of the fmc being so freaken rude and the mmc always taking their crap and acting like it’s so adorable. So annoying some times. I gave it a four star because I really liked Huxley. He was rich, thoughtful, sweet and much more. The fmc didn’t bring much to the table but wanted so much more. Sorry my opinion sorry if I offended anyone ????

This was a fun read and I loved the characters. The things they went through together were very entertaining and the ending was a nice twist. Only negative was the 3rd act breakup. I felt it coming and it always hurts. But the overall book was very fun to read!
