About this item

Rule #1 for becoming an NHL team’s social media manager:

Don’t hook up with the star center in an elevator a week before starting your new job.

Uhh… oops.

Okay, so I already broke the first rule. But just because Noah Blake knows what my ‘O’ face looks like, that doesn’t mean he’ll ever get to see it again.

This job means the world to me, and I won’t risk it for anything—not even for a hockey captain with a crooked smile, a dangerously talented tongue, and gorgeous blue eyes that make my heart race.

Not even when he shows up at my door to comfort me in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Not even if he’s determined to show me just how incredible we could be together.

Falling for a hockey player was never part of my plan. The only problem is, there’s a little voice in my head that keeps whispering…

Maybe he’s right.

“I didn’t know you were the jealous type,” Margo teases, sliding her hands through my hair.

My arms tighten around her. “With you, I am. I can’t help it.”

“Well, thanks for coming to my rescue.” She pauses, then adds, “Although… you do realize I wasn’t the only person in the stands wearing your number, right? There were probably hundreds of fans at the game wearing your last name on their back.”

It’s different when it’s you,” I insist.

“How?”

Because one day, it’s gonna be your last name too.

You'll love Offside Hearts if you enjoy...

  • Golden retriever hockey players
  • A hero who falls first and falls harder
  • The reformed player trope
  • A man who likes to praise
  • Forbidden / secret romance
  • Hockey romance with found family

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't stop smiling!!

Great read! I love that Noah and Margo's story was thorough. You really get a good look at their relationship and feelings. Noah is very swoon worthy! There were times in the book that seem to drag out but at the same time it gave more background/storytelling to the characters and I loved it! Can't wait for book 2!

4.0 out of 5 stars good and great chemistry

This is a good book. It did drag some areas and on some spots that could’ve been eliminated or sped through. I think book 2 is better than book one as I read them out of order the drama with Noah’s family. It’s just kind of silly and cliché and just didn’t really need to happen, it didn’t really last long and it didn’t really go anywhere so it just kind of took away from the momentum of the book. I think it would’ve been better without it in the second act. Noah and Margo were really cute together but the spice got a little bit repetitive

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming, adorable, and hot romance

I seriously expected this to be tacky and short from the ad that made me click and from the way the couple meet. Definitely didn't expect to be so invested in the couple. Writing was high caliber but relatable. The spice and the romance matched. Not over the top but definitely spicy and sweet.

3.0 out of 5 stars God, but lacking
Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024
The love story as a whole was sweet, and the spice was good. The plot, however, was lacking, and the story was just sort of drug out. The "climax" of the story seemed to be in the last 50ish pages and was so short. I just found the book to be less than what I'd expected, I guess.

I'm still going to read the next one. I'm hoping things might be more interesting with the back story on a couple of the other characters. We will see!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific story

I devoured this book in about 24 hours. I started on a Thursday night and could barely put it down to sleep. Woke up early to keep reading and fought to make it through my workday so I could read it some more.

The story line is sweet and the expected "hard point" in the story actually took me by surprise. After reading hundreds of romance novels over the years, I enjoy an unexpected twist.

The steamy parts were...steamy in the best ways!! ????

I absolutely recommend this book!!!!

I'm going to move on to the others in the series. I really enjoy Nikki Lawson's books.

This is the first but definitely not the last book by Nikki Lawson that I'm going to read. Noah and Margo are both sweet and spicy all at the same time. I had a few moments in my feels and much more laughter!
I highly recommend you make this a must read!

4.0 out of 5 stars this was fun
Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2024
This wasnt the best book I’ve ever read but it was fun and spicy and Noah Blake might be the sweetest hockey book boyfriend literally ever. The spice was SPICING. I mean like half this book was nothing but spice so if that’s your thing then this book is for you. I would say 3.5 stars from me. I was skimming by the end but just because it was a lot of spice.
