He’s a Ruthless Stranger. One I can’t see, only feel, thanks to my friends who make a deal with him on my behalf.
No names. No personal details. No face to etch into my mind.
Just him, me, and an expensive silk tie.
What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas.
He warns me he’s full of danger.
I never see that side of him. All I experience is his Russian accent, delicious scent, and touch that lights me on fire.
One incredible night turns into two. Then we go our separate ways.
But fate doesn't keep us apart. When I run into my stranger back in Chicago, I know it’s him, even if I’ve never seen his icy blue eyes before.
Our craving is hotter than Vegas. But he never lied.
He’s a ruthless man…
Ruthless Stranger is the jaw-dropping first installment of the Mafia Wars series. It’s an interconnecting, age gap, strangers to lovers, stand-alone Dark Mafia Romance, guaranteed to have an HEA.

I was surprised after having read this book that it was book one in the series. It was written like you should have some previous knowledge of the characters and who they are. The back and forth intense emotions was crazy. Immediate one extreme to the other.
I understand this is an interconnected standalone but it didn’t feel that way when reading to me. It felt like, to me, that the book needed to be wrapped up so a bunch of random and intense moments happened in the last 20% percent of the book that it was a little hard to figure out what was going on.
Overall the book was an interesting read and had an interesting story. I think it would have been better focusing more on their one night more, or having their one night having been a novella and this novel being about them finding each other again.
It just felt really incomplete to me. Either it needed to be longer to explain things more smoothly or broken up.
Overall good read, I don’t know if I’d continue the series at this time.
Ok cliffhanger but this is one of 10 books and I checked all the other books are each male characters in the interconnected Russian and Irish mafia family. Book two is how Boris and his wife got together...why? We don't care in book one they're already together and she's pregnant.
We need Aspen and Maksim's story to continue at the cliffhanger, why in the world is book two going backwards?
Each book after appears to be another brother or cousin's love story.
What?????
I'm frustrated, if the second book continued the story it'd make sense
I don't want to go backwards and I don't want to jump into someone else's romance when we're left with Aspen and Maksim's story unresolved.
If you want to tell us about Boris dedicate a chapter to how they met then get back to our main characters.
So irritating I don't want to waste more time reading book two to be left going what the heck?
It did kind of irritate me that Aspen had to know EVERYTHING, but then I guess I would want to know the important things too.
3.5 ????️
Whew ???????????? what a way to start a book! I couldn’t put it down.
First - they both deserved better because their exes were horrible humans. Second - thank goodness what happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas!!!
Super spicy, good storyline, really good character development and introductions to all the “key” family members. I always start to get annoyed when the “innocent” female lead tries to talk the ruthless mafia male into changing their ways and go easy on someone deserving of their wrath, and I was really glad that didn’t happen too often here. I was getting worried when the meeting happened in Kora’s office that Aspen was going to pull that card - thankfully she did not.
But, Can we talk about how no one cared Hailee hit 20k in the slots?? Like please let this be me!!!
Definitely would recommend this one. Looking forward to continuing on in the series.
