About this item
A rugged mountain town seemed like the perfect escape from a life in shambles. But on day one I ran full tilt into the world’s hottest single dad and now all my plans are ruined.
As a chart-topping country singer with a recent streak of bad press it’s hard to find any peace. But I find it in Rose Hill. With a little boy and a little girl who steal my heart just as thoroughly as their dad.
Weston Belmont.
The man is a shameless flirt. He oozes confidence and masculinity in a way that’s downright distracting. And in bed? He’s addictive.
Everything with him is wild and impulsive and I’m desperate to regain some control.
But no one has supported me like West does. And no one has ever made me feel as loved as he does either.
So, while my brain says settling down with a small-town horse trainer is impossible… my heart says I’m right where I belong.
Still, my life as a celebrity haunts me. It has the power to pull us apart.
I can see in his eyes that wants me to stay. And I want that too.
But I know better than anyone that we don’t always get what we want.

BREAKING NEWS: Elsie Silver did again!! Wild Eyes is not just a love story, but also a story of learning to love yourself. I cried, laughed, and simply couldn’t put this book down. I completely consumed it within 24 hours and if sleep wouldn’t have gotten in the way, it would’ve been finished in a single sitting. I’ve spent the last few hours sitting on my thoughts and trying to gather myself to write a review, but all I can think about is how special this book really was. I didn’t know how I’d feel about a celebrity x single dad, but it exceeded my expectations by a long shot. I’m so glad I have a physical copy, because this is one of my new favorite Elsie Silver books, and one of my new favorite books in general. I loved Wild Love, but this exceeds that too. I walked away with 340 highlights total, and I plan to annotate and tab my physical copy too.
The hilarious meet cute had me giggling and hooked me into the story immediately.
LORD HAVE MERCY. Weston Belmont is officially tied with Beau Eaton for my favorite Elsie Silver book boyfriend. He’s a cinnamon roll with a dirty mouth, and dirty actions to match. His banter, emails, and efforts for his kids & Skylar are unwavering. I literally fell in love with him while reading about him falling in love with Skylar. This man is a walking green flag.
When Emmy goes to get in West’s bed because she had a nightmare and innocently assumed Skylar was there because she also had a nightmare.. My heart. Skylar immediately felt like she didn’t belong there and she was imposing but West assures her she belongs there. This healed something in me honestly.
Coach Thick Thighs & Fancy Face.
Skylar has so much character growth and development throughout this story. Not only does she find love in this story, but she finds herself. She’s always been told no, but when she finally tells herself yes she succeeds. I fell in love with her character while she fell in love with herself. She is such a relatable female main character, and one of my new favorites at that.
Ollie & Emmy are the sweetest little angel babies ever. The way that Ollie finds comfort, safety, and trust in Skylar from the beginning and starts talking to her but never talks to anyone makes my heart swell. Sometimes children can get in the way of characters and cause conflict in stories, but these two added to the story. The immediate bond and connection they have with Skylar is so special.
Also, to see healthy coparenting portrayed is so rare and Elsie did just that. West has so much respect for Mia, despite their differences because she is the mother of his children. Her interactions with Skylar were respectful and mature, and it was refreshing.
Cherry had me giggling from the very start. It’s so often you see main characters having dogs, cats, etc. but never a bird that swears like a sailor. She is iconic and I love her so much. I had numerous highlights of just Cherry swearing at people.
I was teary eyed by the end of the book, and even more so when I heard the songs that were recorded for the book. I’ve never seen something this executed so flawlessly. The lyrics, the voice, and the overall vibe is exactly how I envisioned Skylar sounding.
I cannot wait for Rhys & Tabitha’s book. I already preordered a physical copy, and will spend the next few months thinking about them nonstop. I know their story is going to have my heart the same way this one did.
If you need me, I’ll be emotionally unwell for a little while recovering from this book. Elsie Silver, expect my therapy bill.
Skylar and West’s meet cute is perfect. He saves her from a grizzly bear. He doesn’t do it because she’s a famous singer—he sees someone who needs help. And in doing so, he heals her a little bit.
Skylar’s in Rose Hill to record an album. After all she’s been through, she wants to do something for herself. Meeting everyone in this small town shows her that some people will do things for you just because they want to, and it shifts something inside her. Because it’s real.
And West? He likes Skylar just as she is, even if no one else ever did. They try to remain “friends,” but you know it won’t work, because they just… fit.
I’m not saying a lot in this review because I want you to experience this book. Their pet names. West’s kids. Night check. Ford and Rosie. Grilled cheese. Songs. There's so much feeling and so many moments, especially if you value the small things like I do.
I want you to experience West and Skylar, the way Skylar changes and how West sees her grow and fly not only with her own wings but also with the ones love helped her find. It felt inspiring to me.
Home. A place where you belong. A place where you’re accepted, loved, and cherished. But also a person. A person who will always come for you and seek you out. A person who believes in you even when you don’t yourself, who is there for you not because you’re hyped or famous or because of what they can get from you. Just because you’re you.
To say I loved it is a huge understatement.
the audiobook is PHENOMENAL! Teddy Hamilton perfectly captures West’s attitude and charisma and Savannah Peachwood is a forever favorite of mine. She’s the best Skylar. And the songs performed by Alyssa Brigiotta. Wow. I don’t have the words! Such an incredible experience for your ears! And heart. And soul.
The writing is incredible, as always with any Elsie Silver book, and the story is perfect. Not only is it a story about two people falling in love, but both West and Skylar have so much personal growth in the story as well. It’s such a well rounded book!
