    The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore is the second book in the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore and it’s another really cute, comforting small town romance read. The banter is quote-worthy, the romance is heart-warming and character growth and insight is significant.

    This story follows Hazel, the steady, quiet, responsible bookstore worker who is on the verge of turning thirty and regrets her “safe” existence. She wants to break the mold that she’s created for herself, live without regrets, try new things and enjoy a summer of fun. When she begins to find clues in random books in the romance section that have highlighted quotations, she considers it her call to action and decides to follow them like a treasure hunt. Noah is the town playboy who runs fishing tours and is happiest when outside. He’s as nice as can be, but feels like he has disappointed his family and is a not worthy of high esteem. He agrees to help Hazel follow the clues and fulfill her summer of fun, but is he in it only for the summer?

    The plot is light and sweet, the story is entertaining and easy to read, and though there were times when the lack of communication trope was just as frustrating as it always is, it was still an enjoyable summer read. It was a bit repetitive with its constant declarations of personal failure and flaws, and more steamy that I’d prefer, but overall, The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore is a delightful story and even better than the first!

    There is less of a build up in this than the first in my opinion, but the story line was still super cute and kept me wanting to read more... on to the next one.
    Not going to lie, I bought all these books on Kindle before reading the first one, including pre-ordering the last 2, I've also bought the first 3 physical copies, again, before reading the first one, and I'm so happy that I did.
    These are the cutest quickest little palette cleanser ☺️
    On to the Christmas Tree Farm!

    The Cinnamon Bun Book Store is the second book in the Dream Harbor series and it is so cute!

    Another adorable read by Laurie Gilmore that focuses on Hazel and Noah’s love story!

    If you read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe, you knew that Noah had a serious crush on Hazel! So watching their story play out in front of our eyes was so freaking cute!

    I loved Hazel’s character! She’s smart and introverted, but also has moments of panic (especially when her 30 birthday is right around the corner). But when I really started to love her, was when she began hanging out with Noah. He brought out all the confident sides of Hazel and showed her that life can be lived on her terms and that she didn’t necessarily have to rush things to experience it all.

    Hazel also taught Noah a lot about life. He was so ashamed of his past decisions that he was avoiding the people who meant the most to him (besides Hazel). She showed him that it’s ok to be vulnerable and to grow through it.

    I highly suggest reading this book/series if you are looking for a quick, fun, and feel good read!

    I finished Pumpkin Spice Café for my book club a month ago. It wasn't what I expected, but I did enjoy it. I was curious about <b> The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore</b> and excited to read Hazel’s story. Since the first book's introduction, I have liked Hazel and am interested in learning more about her backstory. I heard some liked The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore over the Pumpkin Spice Café, and I wanted to know why. The story exceeded my expectations, and I enjoyed it more than the previous book; it felt more fast-paced, so I had to put it down to study. Noah and Hazel seemed to have a stronger relationship than Jeanie and Logan. I wanted them to end up together; I didn't want their relationship to be a fling. I cheered for the couple, hoping they would discover their feelings for one another.

    I enjoyed the mystery aspect in Cinnamon Bun Bookstore and the hidden meanings in the romance novels. I liked that she approached Noah for help figuring out who was behind it. I wondered whether he agreed to help her figure it out because he was behind it all, trying to grab her attention. I felt he wanted a relationship with Hazel, not what they had, but he was concerned she didn't share his feelings. There was a lot of attraction between them, and this novel had more heated scenes. This book also had a more realistic mystery. Like Hazel, I was eager to find who was behind the mysterious notes.

    I wasn't sure about the end. The way it happened didn't seem realistic to me. I enjoyed Cinnamon Bun Store. I'm reading The Christmas Tree Farm for my book club next month, and I can't wait to read Kira's story. I recommend reading this novel, especially if you enjoy romance and mystery.
