About this item

I was the girl no one looked at twice. Until they saw me.

My whole life, no one has had my back. My parents are dead, my adoptive mother is a drug addict, and the mean girls on campus mock me for my scars.

So when I end up desperate for money and out of options, I agree to sell the one thing I have left: my innocence.

On the night I’m meant to give my body to a brutal Russian mobster, three men storm into the room like dark shadows and kill him before he can claim me. When they drag me from the blood-soaked bed, I’m certain they’re going to kill me too.

They don’t… but they don’t forget about me, either.

These three dangerous brothers will do anything to make sure I keep my mouth shut about what I saw, even if it means stalking my every movement. I’m a loose thread to them—but somehow, I’m becoming
more than that too.

I’m becoming an obsession.
A temptation.
A craving.

And no matter how much I try to deny the terrifying attraction that pulses between us, I know if I don’t find a way out of this tangled web soon…

Their darkness will swallow me up.

Twisted Game is a full-length new adult romance with dark themes, damaged anti-heroes, and high heat. It is book one of four in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect action packed reverse harem!

This book wasn't even on my tbr list, but one of my book besties wanted to buddy read it, so we did. Only I finished it within two days because I couldn't put it down. I loooovvvveeee a good reverse harem and this one has action on top of it.

This is the first book in the series and it starts off with Willow struggling to pay for school. She ends up doing something she wouldn't normally do and in the process ends up meeting the Vorodin brothers. Because of what happens and how then end up meeting, the brothers end up stalking Willow for certain reasons. When someone ends up coming after the brothers and Willow, they decide to keep her even closer. They control most of what she does. In the middle of all of this, Willow ends up falling for all of them and their unique personalities. Malice, who his an intimidator and absolutely terrifying. Ransom, who is sweet, funny and super easy to get along with and be comfortable around. And then there is Vic or Victor, who is the tech of the family and has issues with letting go of control due to his past. The ending has a pretty good surprise and one you don't see coming until you are there.

All in all I can't say enough good things about this book. It is a spicy reverse harem with action, tension between characters, as well as parts that really make you laugh out loud. This book has something for everyone and it is dark, so definitely check your trigger warnings.

This read like a YA for spice because it was so much tension but the main characters didn't actually do anything together until 82% of my kindle read. At the same time it had violence and dark romance vibes. I did enjoy it and all the quotable lines and I'm ready for book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top-Tier Dark Romance, a Must-Read

I truly had no idea what to expect when I downloaded this book on my Kindle. I had been binge-reading dozens of dark romance novels, cringing at most, barely finishing a few. I knew nothing about the author, I was not familiar with any of her other works, and I was only reading it because it an Instagram account recommended it. And it set the standard for every dark romance book I will ever read following it.

Willow Hayes is one of the most relatable, realistic female leads I have ever had the pleasure of reading. She is written so well I often forgot she was not a real person, and she was written so normal that I often lost myself in the story and immersed my own self as her character. She reacts realistically to every situation and I never once cringed at her reaction because I felt she reacted appropriately (whereas in other novels I've felt the main female love interest often acts out of character just to appear stronger or smarter or sassier). She will hold such an important place in my heart as a reader, and an even more important place in my mind as a fellow writer.

Victor, Malice, and Ransom Voronin are, without debate, the best reverse harem love interests my wildest dreams could ever come up with. They are morally gray, intense, have individual strengths and weaknesses, and are believable as people and as brothers. The author does an incredible job keeping all three of them separate and consistently keeping their own mannerisms, figures of speech, and actions married to their individual characters. I never once got confused on who was speaking or acting or whose POV I was reading. Their background is just as believable, and it's an instant connection to fall in love and empathize with their trauma (and excuse their revenge plots).

This was a fantastic read, so good that I ended up buying the entire series in paperback just to have a hard copy near me at all times. This is my go-to series to recommend to friends, both readers and writers alike. I found that this book and the entire series serve as an excellent resource on how to write characters, how to follow through on a plot, and how to craft an incredible, realistic world. I applaud the author for her amazing work and I look forward to exploring her other series as well.

Waited 80% for some real smut & when it happened it didn’t disappoint but never stopped! Liked the character building & the explanation & backstory for each brother, & liked the story line itself. definitely going to read the second one.

This is a dark stalker, slow-burn, why choose, mafia-ish romance. The MMCs are brothers and the FMC is a down on her luck orphan that is in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The buildup in this book is great, the pacing just slow enough to let it simmer but quick enough to keep a reader interested. The guys have some serious disability rep going on, especially Vic who I believe is OCD, but I’m not doctor so I really don’t know. They are all suffering from physical and mental psychosis that wreaks havoc on them separately, but you see all four learn and begin to heal.

The FMC is a virgin and that plays a serious part in the plot, which is gross but necessary to make this story work. She plans to sell her first time to make money for her tuition and without that none of the rest would happen, but I hate the virginity as an asset trope.

I am also not too pleased with the MMCs. Vic is written well, but both Malice and Ransom (WTF with these names) are very basic characters. They feel like constructs of the guys from the Madison Kate series, and it was hard to have any attachment for them because they just sort of exist. Malice is big, scary, angry guy, and Ransom is the golden retriever of the set, and that’s about all you need to know.

Overall, I will probably read some more of the series since this one left off with a HUGE cliffhanger (I think I know where it’s going and why) but otherwise it’s nothing outstanding that needs to be brought to the front of my TBR.

Until Next Time,
MC
