Brandy Bloom has been pining for Stephan Corbin, an associate partner at her company, for a few years. Now that Brandy is following her boss, Samantha to Long Island, NY to open up another office she thinks that the office Christmas party is the best place to make her move. When Brandy kisses "Stephan" under the mistletoe, she quickly realizes that it is not Stephan, but his twin brother Maxwell Corbin. Brandy did not expect the kiss to be so explosive! Max also realizes that Brandy is not someone he just wants a one night stand with. Now he just has to convince her that his feelings are real!

I really loved this fun, steamy Christmas story. Brandy wanted something and finally saw her opportunity to get it, to then realize that she found something even better! Max was instantly drawn to Brandy and quickly realized they shared something rare and I loved how he went about convincing her of just that! Overall a fun, enjoyable read.

A sizzling holiday short story in the Sterling Family series!

Brandy is hoping to start the new year off with something special-a one night stand with her boss before she leaves the office and never sees him again. It's completely out of character for her, but when the mistletoe is out, what better time to try? Except the man she kisses is his twin brother, Max. Instant, off-the-charts chemistry. The one problem? Max knows one night will never be enough.

Brandy has emotional walls up, values her independence, and doesn't think she can do relationships. Max feels like he's always come second-best in his family, but wants to try and show Brandy they can be something special. Both have sweet and special moments of vulnerability with the other.

Just the sort of sweet and spicy holiday novella you want from Carly Phillips! A quick and deightful read.

I love a good holiday book. Especially on that is sexy with a little doubt. Brandy and Max did not disappoint, and their game of pool was top-notch.

Thank you, Carly, for the holiday cheer. Max got his wish.

Assistant Brandy Bloom (who we met in the Sterling Family Book #2 Just One More Dare) knows what she wants for Christmas this year and is just going to go for it at tonight’s office Holiday Party. She has her sights set on her co-worker, who isn’t into relationships any more than she is. Plus, this is her last day in their Manhattan office, as she’s helping their boss open a Long Island branch of their PR firm, so she has nothing to lose.

But the man Brandy kisses behind the tree that evening isn’t the man he desires, although he is his twin brother. Maxwell “Max” Corbin was invited by his brother, Stephan, to attend tonight’s party. Thinking that the party was going to be a bust, until he is drawn to a sexy elf standing by the Christmas tree. Without thinking (or introducing himself) he kisses her, and he doesn’t get pushed away. Brandy does know that he’s not his brother and calls him on it.

Feeling that he found someone special, Max does everything in his power to not let her out of his sight. He takes her to The Back Door for some dinner and then they end up at his place (conveniently located above the bar). The flirty banter that they’ve engaged in all night turns passionate. I fully expected my kindle to go up in flames. Yet the next morning, Brandy overhears Max on the phone with his brother and leaves a “it’s not you, it’s me” note for Max to find. Is Brandy willing to find out if she has a future with Max? Or is she just going to let this go, as she had planned to all along?

This book makes me believe in instant attraction. Between the initial weariness of both characters, the sexual chemistry, the strong witty banter, I didn’t want this novella to end.

I had two issues with this book that led me to a 3-star rating. The first one is that Brandy was very very into Max's twin and then she suddenly seemed to brush it off and act like it was nothing which was weird and it irked me a bit. Secondly, I wanted just a little bit more of Max and Brandy. I know that the book is a novella and it was bound to leave things open, however, I wanted more for these two characters. The Christmas theme is on point and the book is festive so I would definitely recommend reading it closer to Christmas time.

What do you get when you have one mistaken identity, accompanied with a sizzling kiss? You get a insta-love romance with a capital I.

Brandy has been a good girl and keeping her head down and working hard toward her goals of never having to depend on someone. And with New Year approaching and her moving, she decided to break out the good girl role and try and see if the attraction with a certain co-worker is there or is it all in her head. At the Christmas party she indulges and kisses him only to discover that the best kiss of her life belongs to this twin brother.

Max cannot believe his luck. He came to the party because his twin brother invited him and when a gorgeous woman kisses the lights out of him, he knows something special just happened.

As the night progresses and they exchange small pieces of themselves, he knows she might be the one. But her past has left deep scars and when she bolts, he knows nothing will stop him from going after her and proving to her, she can trust and rely on him no matter what.

I've been reading Carly Philips a few years now and I’ve yet to read a book i didn't like by her. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love romances but this one didn't disappoint and for a short story it felt a lot bigger if that makes sense. If you love a holiday themed stories this one is for you.
