I loved this book even more than the first one in the series. These characters are ones you care about. They have a background that is slowly revealed, and the love story is a delicious slow burn. All of the secondary characters are interesting and lovely. The Christmas setting lends itself so well to this story. I loved this book and I'm notoriously picky. Catherine Walsh is a writer's writer. Great at her craft. She draws you in and weaves all the threads of the storyline masterfully. Great job Catherine. Kudos.

About this item
Megan is dreading going home for the holidays. She’s the village pariah, the she-devil who left local golden boy Isaac at the altar four years ago and ran away to the big city. She could really do without the drama. Particularly as he’s engaged again, and she’s just been dumped for the fourth time this year.
Christian’s fed up of being on his own every Christmas. He doesn’t mind being alone, but he hates his family’s sad eyes and soft tones as they sit around coupled up. Because he’s actually, totally, fine.
So when Megan literally bumps into Christian in a Dublin pub, they come up with a pact to see them through the holiday season. They’re going to be the very best fake dates for each other, ever.
Rules are drawn up, a contract is signed on a wine-stained napkin. They will sit through each other’s family gatherings and be outrageously in love until freed from their annual obligations. After all, it’s only for a few weeks.
But with everyone home for the holidays, two big families to deal with alongside old friends, old flames and old feelings, things are bound to get messy. And when a snowed-in cabin and a little Christmas magic are added to the mix, anything could happen…
A swoonworthy and utterly gorgeous romantic comedy that will make you laugh out loud and fall completely in love. Fans of Emily Henry, Sophie Kinsella and Abby Jimenez won’t be able to put this down!

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book cuter than this. This was the perfect rom com cozy Christmas book AND it didn’t have a dramatic second act breakup so honestly this might be top 3 Christmas read. It was perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars A funny holiday romance with fake dating!
My little adventure into love stories about Irish characters with self-effacing and laugh-out-loud funny humour began with Holiday Romance, which is the interconnected standalone pair of Snowed In. In Holiday Romance we got to meet Christian, and my memory only served a reminder about him being grumpy, I have to confess, he was a swoony book boyfriend, who with his struggles, self-doubt, charisma and assurance about wrong and right wormed his way into my heart.
From the first scene he appeared in I was invested in his character arc, his seemingly cocky attitude paired with complete confusion about life’s biggest questions made him a compelling MMC. The way he treated his family and complete strangers, and how he assured Meg, that there’re men worth the wait and pain was heart-warming.
Megan was a resilient and headstrong FMC, with the biggest heart and passion projects littered all around her. She did what many couldn’t have done in her shoes: left a small town, never looked back. Built new friendships, started a job in a completely new field, became financially independent from her parent.
The storyline starts with the best romcom meet cute, follows it up the perfect romance trope, about two fools agreeing on faking it till they’re making it, them eventually developing feelings far more serious than a platonic relationship should allow and, of course, in the end realizing something profound is on the horizon while being trapped in close quarters!
Catherine threaded around the fake dating trope beautifully, it never seemed artificial, and the character development with the small added details regarding personal growth was plotted and written beautifully. I was able to truly immerse myself in the Irishness of it all, and loved every single minute of the masterful banter I’ve come to pair with her writing style.
Snowed In is the perfect Christmas spirited romcom for this year and I would wholly encourage every romance lover to check it out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great snowy day read!
I really enjoyed the character arcs of Megan and Christian. Their relationship was fun and cute to see unfold.
I wish it didn’t take 70% of the book to get to the “snowed in” part, because the rest of the book felt like it was on fast forward. It took so long for the book’s plot to build that when it got to the peak of it, it was almost over. I wish Megan and Christian got snowed in at the cabin for a majority of the book, it would’ve been interesting to see how they handled it.
This was a cute romantic comedy, great for Christmastime. Some aspects were a little strange but the over all concept of the book was fun. I would recommend this for a snowy day read! Tropes: fake dating, friends first, old flames, forced proximity

5.0 out of 5 stars Snowed In: Where the Cold Outside Meets the Sparks Inside
This book is like a cozy blanket and a mug of hot cocoa — pure comfort with a dash of fun. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, heartwarming, and not a single character made me want to yeet the book across the room — which, let’s be real, is a modern miracle. Catherine Walsh absolutely crushed it. If you’re looking for a romance that feels like a warm hug, this one’s it.

4.0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't say it was funny, but definitely lighthearted - I really liked this story
Christian and Megan knew each other in school. He was there 5 years ago when she ran out on her wedding. Now she's going back home to their small town in Ireland for the first time since. She knows she's been shunned by her friends and the townspeople - because they don't know why she ran out on the boy she'd been with since she was 15 years old. No one knows the real reason except Megan and Isaac - and even Isaac doesn't know for sure which straw broke for Megan.
They've run into one another at a pub (Christian & Megan). It's kind of vague, what Christian does for a living - he's got a business degree and definitely works in some sort of real estate thing. Megan works for a small company that does Eco Mold removal, and she also has an online store where she sells the things she knits.
Christian feels like a fish out of water when he goes home, he's got some idea that he's disappointed his father by not taking over the family farm or some such nonsense. They decide it would be a good idea to team up, fake date, to get through the holidays.
I really liked this story, partially because, come on, IRELAND. Plus I like "old friends meet up and fake date" trope. They were *this* close to a one night stand that first night at the pub, but other than that, it's a Very Slow burn of a story. Not much happens between our two MCs until they actually find themselves snowed in a luxury cabin while trying to make sure it's prepped for Christian's brother Andrew and his girlfriend Molly.
Christian and Molly's story was #1 in the series but I didn't see it first, so I'm reading it now with high (but reasonable) expectations.
