A light, engaging mystery. Just enough of the plans of M. Poirot were revealed to leave the reader satisfied at the end. Recommended to any Christie fan.

One can't go wrong with a Christie story. This combines Christmas, Poirot and crime in a most charming and interesting manner. Good to read on a very cold day even if Christmas has past.

It's Agatha Christie and Hercule Poirot, a missing gem, and Christmas in the country. What more needs to be said.
    An entertaining little mystery.

Romance and Christmas traditions lighten a story starting Poirot. Unusually light, I would say for the Belgian detective but very appropriate for the season.

Sit back and enjoy a short Christmas story from the past. Christie at her best, take time from shopping and the Christmas have to do ,relax and go back in time. Or do as I did and read it I April. Any time is a good time for Poirot , in enjoy the feeling of being snowed in , in a country house of old. Or read it out loud and everyone try to solve the mystery? I think I will do a re-read at Christmas as a who done it with the family. Its a super quick read but worth it. Maybe save it for the dog days of summer. As the old saving goes its always Christie time some where. Baffle over and out.????

How wonderful to read a short story from Miss Christie and for it to be read at this time of year. So very good of her to tell this yarn and for me to join in reading it days before Christmas. So enjoyable.
