About this item

INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The latest Stephanie Plum novel from #1New York Times bestseller and “the most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times) Janet Evanovich.

She said yes to Morelli. She said yes to Ranger. Now Stephanie Plum has two fiancés and no idea what to do about it. But the way things are going, she might not live long enough to marry anyone.

While Stephanie stalls for time, she buries herself in her work as a bounty hunter, tracking down an unusually varied assortment of fugitives from justice. There’s Eugene Fleck, a seemingly sweet online influencer who might also be YouTube star Robin Hoodie, masked hero to the homeless, who hijacks delivery trucks and distributes their contents to the needy. She’s also on the trail of Bruno Jug, a wealthy and connected man in the wholesale produce business who is rumored to traffic young girls alongside lettuce and tomatoes. Most terrifying of all is Zoran—a laundromat manager by day and self-proclaimed vampire by night with a taste for the blood of pretty girls. When he shows up on Stephanie’s doorstep, it’s not for the meatloaf dinner.

With timely assists from her stalwart supporters Lula, Connie, and Grandma Mazur, Stephanie uses every trick in the book to reel in these men. But only she can decide what to do about the two men she actually loves. She can’t hold Ranger and Morelli at bay for long, and she’s keeping a secret from them that is the biggest bombshell of all. Now or never, she’s got to make the decision of a lifetime.

This was such a great Plum book. Multiple storylines, one really bad guy and an incredibly smart choice.
With Stephanie, there is always a mob element, A life threatening element, and fun getting to the end. OH, AND A WEDDING!
I'm not giving any plot away, but the bad guy is the WORST Stephanie has ever faced, an endearing crook who is not mob, an endearing crook who is Mob, but semi retired mob, and two engagements.
Stephanie finally learns to load and carry a gun. She gets the bad guy, but shoots him first, AND she chooses between Morelli or Ranger.

I just finished rereading the entire series, And this novel was the best of the lot! I must have read this series more than twenty times, for almost every title that came out. I love all the main characters... Especially Morelli and Ranger! Never could pick a favorite.
This book has all the usual laugh out loud humor, mystery and action common to all the Stephanie Plum books and novellas. I haven't found another series as entertaining as this. Someone needs to produce a series of Movies for these, but do a better job casting the main men. The choices for Joe and Ranger in the first movie may have been the reason the others failed to be filmed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good If You are a Series Fanatic

I feel like Janet has gotten back to the Plum series being really good the last couple. It was in a slump there awhile. I feel this book read how a fan expected. If felt this could have offered a couple twists, and it just didn't. It played safe and easily guessable. That being said, I enjoyed the read, and I enjoyed the characters a lot. I sort of thought she may surprise us somewhere, and didn't, and for that I got 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars The pressures are on bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Decisions must be made.

Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter, a bail bonds enforcement agent, working for her cousin Vinnie. When a “client” fails to appear (FTA) in court after posting bail it is Stephanie’s job to apprehend the person and bring them to the court to get bonded out again.

Currently she has a variety of odd ducks she needs to bring in, including: “Robin Hoody", who robs from delivery trucks and gives to the homeless, Bruno Jug a wholesale produce salesman who may also be trafficking in young girls and Zoran, a young man who claims to be a vampire and is killing young women and keeping souvenirs. Together with her friend and co-worker, Lula, their hands will be full just finding these perpetrators and bringing them in while keeping themselves safe from harm.

Stephanie has one other, very big, complication in her life. She is in love with 2 different men and she has said “yes” to each of their proposals of marriage. Joe is a life-long friend, former bad-boy now working as a police detective, owns a house and a dog and loves Stephanie. Ranger, is dark, sexy and mysterious. He runs a very successful security company and is always looking out for her safety.

Books in this series are fun, fast, humorous and, occasionally sexy. Stephanie may not be the most skilled agent but she is smart, determined and often, lucky. Plus she has a couple of great guys who always have her back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve read every book in the Stephanie Plum series, in order. Note: Don't be mistaken, Evanovich has more than one series. The Stephanie Plum series is the very best. I did enjoy the "Fox & O'Hare Adventure Series”; unfortunately that seems to have ended at book seven. For me, her many, many others don't live up to these. If you’ve never read the Stephanie Plum series, this is as good as it gets. Of course, you’ll enjoy this book even more if you begin from book one and enjoy the series as it is intended. Now or Never is book 31 and my favorite of all time

I always enjoy reading a Stephanie Plum novel. I love the characters, and I love the wacky humor. Reading about her life and crazy adventures lifts my mood and leaves me happy. This story was very entertaining and I enjoyed seeing Stephanie make progress in her skills as a mystery solver and a bounty hunter. I am so pleased that there was no cliffhanger ending. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book in this series. Keep this series coming please. I have been reading the Stephanie Plum books since the first one came out, and it is one of my most favorite series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!

The writing is as good as always, the characters are spot on and the ending is good too. Some previous reviews had me really concerned about whether to read this book in the series. They were negative. But, honestly, this book is a great read and in keeping with each of its lovable and beyond funny characters. Especially Stephanie and Lula. I'm glad that I went with my gut and read the book. It is worth every penny!

Stephanie is a winner and this latest episode does not disappoint. Bless Janet Evanovich. These books are well written with great, relatable characters and nonstop action. Entertaining, humorous at times and very welcome reading for this former New Jerseyan now in GA. Trust me. There’s no Giovichinnis anywhere near me. Highly recommend Stephanie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious Stephanie Plum, Good Mystery As Well
Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2024
If you read the last book, you know Stephanie, in her usual goofy way, accepted proposals from both men in her life: Cop Joe Morelli, and dangerous Ranger. But that "small" problem pales in comparison to her bounty hunter duties including a maybe senile mob boss (who sends lovely fruit baskets) to Robin Hoodie, a guy who steals from UPS, and food trucks to feed the poor, to Zoran, the killer vampire (is there any other kind?), and oh, yeah, nerdy Herbert from her high school past.

Hysterical, great and often scary mystery. And the ending is wonderful. One more thing -- LOVE the author's new photo! Thanks for the update and the super book, Ms. Evanovich.
