    This is filled with more twists and turns than a roller coaster ride! Ingenious writing that brings a lot of tiny facts into focus and into an amazing story.

    A nice afternoon read that failed to disappoint. Female cop, boxer, easy to underestimate, but only once. I liked the false flag on the bad sheriff, but I liked better that she knocked out the assistant sheriff to save the sheriff. She gets a twofer off this one; her original target and a sex trafficker too.

    I knew it was a quickly written short story to be quickly read while traveling and it served its purpose. All went well until the author credited Robert Frost with Carl Sandburg's poem about Chicago. He should have known better.. But "All's well that ends well."

    mind, Jeffery Deaver has. Will need to remember that if I read more of his work. Two books and the twists and turns, the unexpected betrayals, and the leading the reader in specific directions pattern is quite clear. Good story, nice ending, though given this is 2025, if ICE goes looking for the two young refugees, Constant is not going to be able to help.

    Pretty interesting story. This is my first time reading this author. Nice pace to the story. I really like constant. Wil tell my friends. Novella is a great book length.
