About this item

Reeling from a messy divorce at 64-years-old, Madeleine's life is plunged into further chaos when her mother dies and she discovers that she was actually adopted.

Feeling betrayed and heartbroken, Madeleine sets out to track down her true family. But when she finally finds them in an affluent Northern California beach town, she is shocked to discover they own a very successful vineyard.

Thrown by this discovery, Madeleine cannot bring herself to reveal her identity yet. She decides to stay in town for a while she works up the courage to tell them who she really is. It’s a beautiful place and she finds herself happily settling into life there, accepting a job at the local Bridal Store as a dressmaker. Its just what she needs to help her clear her head and figure out what to do next.

But when she is tasked with designing and creating the wedding dress for Natalie, her real sister’s daughter and therefore her niece, Madeleine feels like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

As she is invited to spend time with the family, she gets closer and closer to Natalie, who confides in her that she doesn’t really want to marry her husband... Madeleine unwillingly becomes the confidante to everyone in the family. And as time passes it becomes increasingly difficult for her to reveal her true identity.

Afraid of severing the connections she is forging with her family, Madeline continues her cover. But when another, even darker family secret comes crashing down on them all, Madeleine must decide just what her role is in this complicated family legacy.

And then there’s Jack — the handsome and mysterious man whose deep connection to the Fitzgeralds only makes her growing feelings for him even more complicated.

How long can she keep pretending? With Christmas approaching and the wedding drawing near, Madeleine must choose between protecting her heart or risking everything for the truth—and the family she’s always dreamed of having.

Get caught up in a dramatic family saga this summer and join Madeleine as she navigates her personal challenges to the backdrop of sun, sea, and crisp California wine.

Maddie is getting sucked into the family dynamics and as much as she wants to learn what is really going on she is not sure just where her place will be in this family.
She has been tagged to make her nieces wedding dress even though Natalie doesn't know it is her aunt.
Its humorous because she is being treated just like one of the sisters and family even though they do not really know she is part of their family. The are currently waiting for the Matriarch to return to the fold and all she is hearing is that this woman is really hard to deal with. How will she find out about her family.

Maddy is working for a dressmaker and has gotten away from her old life. She is also trying to discover information about her mother. She feels bad that she is not being honest with her boss and her new friends about why she came to this beautiful Northern California town. She is getting closer to Natalie and readjusting her wedding gown. I received a free book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Maddy slowly gets to know some of her family without them knowing who she is. She is still reeling from her divorce while still trying to organize the fundraiser back home. She is dealing with all kinds of emotions while trying to fit in her new temporary home. I highly recommend this book to all women's fiction book readers.

Another superb book in the Family Vineyard series as Maddie continues to face unexpected challenges following her divorce. To add to her challenges, she is struggling to come to grips with the discovery that she was adopted. I love the emotional pull of the book and the newly introduced characters as they increasingly play into the story. I highly recommend this book and series.
