    This is a good, short story introduction to Connection Detective Inspector Stacy Weiss. She's very personable and I want to read more stories with her starring in them.

    The foul-mouthed bird steals the show. I love that he gets a proper name at the end, and it's a fitting name. Apparently, I am just partial to the talking animals in The Other Realm since Esme is another of my absolute favorite characters.

    This is the prequel for Heather's new Other Realm series. If you have read the previous books, you have been introduced to detective Stacy Wise. We don't get to learn too much about her in the other books, so I am excited to learn more about her in this new series! The prequel has Stacy investigating the murder of a criminal. She comes to be in possession of a talking bird who is the only witness. And she is offered help by High King Kreig of the ogres as well. This leaves her baffled, but fans of Heather's will know why!
    This was a quick, easy read and of course I recommend this story! It definitely set up the new series and left me wanting more! I love "Bird" and how quick itis to retort! I can't wait to see how their friendship develops and what may develop between Stacy and Kreig! And of course, after the way this prequel ended I am ready to know what happens next in the Other Realm!!!

    So....I adore HGH books. I had a chance to read Frustrated Justice. I did not ask questions, just grabbed it.

    For some reason, I thought it might be a new series. Who cares. I am in.

    Turns out that it is part of her existing universe of the Other Realm and it follows Detective Inspector, Stacy. I found this out as I was listening to the fantastic Alyse Gibbs narration, happily chugging along with pig dog when BOOM, the end. I shouted out HEY! because I had been settling into the story.

    So just be aware that this is a PREQUEL NOVELLA setting up the new series line. [anticipation wiggle] Enjoy!

    This is the novella for the much-anticipated spinoff series in The Other Realm! This book was a fantastic introduction to Stacy's story - she is a detective in The Other realm and a darn good one at that. I really enjoyed the detailed detective work and realism to how she worked through her investigation.

    True to Harris' writing, this series delivers what every reader wants: A unique world, brilliantly intertwined with the real world today, as well as amazing characters! I absolutley loved "Bird" and cant wait to see how the friendship between Stacy and the King of Ogres (Kreig) develops.

    So much humor and fun is packed into this book! I cannot wait for each of the other full books in this series!

    Hang onto your hats with this prequel into some new characters from the Other series, it’s going to be one heck of a ride!! Stacy, a detective who works for the Common and the Connection, was introduced initially in earlier stories from the Other series. Now we follow along her side of the story while she solves murders with a couple unexpected partners. One is a foul mouthed magical bird and the other is the king of the ogres. What could possibly go wrong? This was a delightfully funny novella that leaves you wanting more. The next installment just can’t get here fast enough.

    Getting reacquainted with Inspector Detective Stacy Wise who is also a level 5 wizard. Stacy works for the Connection as well as the Common police department in Chester. She was called to a murder that involved magic, where she encountered a bird in a gold cage, the bird spoke to her, ok a magical bird. A few of our old friends turn up to offer assistance and Stacy finds the murder of a dryads was the start of retaliation that caused the fire elemental death. Another great read by Heather G Harris, waiting impatiently for the next book in the series. I received this book with the understanding I would leave a honest review.

    I'm so glad it's Stacy's turn in the Other spotlight!

    If you haven't read the other Other books, you'll be able to read this without worrying you missed a lot. Of course, if you HAVE read the other Other books, you'll appreciate this one more, including the reason why the King of the Ogres seems to pop up everywhere Stacy is. For the Other newbies, it'll become clearer in future books, I'm sure!

    Now back to this book... It's full of mystery, magic, paranormal creatures of many kinds (including a very snarky but endearing talking bird!), and mystery. Did I intend to write "mystery" twice? I sure did! Who did what to whom becomes clear pretty early, but the WHY will surprise you.

    I can't wait until Stacy's adventures continue!

    This was a great introduction to the newest series in The Other universe. As always, Heather has a well written, strong main character that pairs well with a great supporting cast and an addicting and mysterious storyline to keep me wanting more. I'm excited to see more of Stacy, Krieg and the mouthy, but endearing Bird in the rest of The Other Detective series!
