This is a 25k novella set in the world of Solaria during Book 5 of the Zodiac Academy series, Cursed Fates, featuring Geraldine and Max as they attend the party of the century and try to resist the lure of the moon as it pushes them together once more.     Geraldine is a true ride or die friend and I love that girl. Her character is so unique and fun but as loyal as they come. Her quirkiness is endearing and makes for the perfect comedy relief just by her being there.

    Her friendship with the Vega twins also shows their softer sides. How they go out of their way to not hurt her feelings is so sweet and truly shows their character and their own loyalty. The friendship is peculiar like everything else around Geraldine but it honestly just works and endears you’re more to all of the characters.

    Max has been such a wonderful surprise. In ZA, he was the love to hate type of character (I mean all the guys really were) but watching him with Geraldine is an actual treat. He’s so confused by her but completely gives in to his desires for her. I love the dynamic between the two of them. How strong Gerry is and how caring Max can be.

    This was a fun and quick read, giving more insight to ever growing complex dynamics between all of these characters and within the characters themselves. This novella was a great illustration of how talented Caroline and Susanne are in creating their characters, for even their secondary characters are well rounded with a surprising amount of depth. It makes this series that much more enthralling.

    The Big A.S.S. Party wasn’t a necessary read but I am happy I got the POVs and a short story that I didn’t know I needed.

    I have always loved Geraldines crazy phrases and how she always has a sea creature in reference to Max. Her inner dialogue is no different and it cracks me up. I was laughing out loud at every page. I am obsessed with the Zodiac Academy series and this book is the perfect addition. It is mostly light-hearted and funny but also full of the deep, passionate love we feel between these characters.

    The authors do an amazing job of distinguishing each character’s individual voice. When reading, you can feel their individual personalities as each chapter has a different feeling based on whose perspective it is.

    Okay, this redeemed Max in my eyes. I love him and Grus together and that party was hilarious! The dresses, the concealment of the guests, turnip Seth - it was such a great laugh after a heartbreaking book 5.

    Geraldine is a true friend! All her weird sayings just make her stand out! I do like her with Max. But also like bro she’s playing more than hard to get.
