In Treasures Lost, Treasures Found, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts tells the romantic adventure story of two former lovers seeking a fortune only to discover that love is what truly favors the bold.

Kate Hardesty’s late father spent his life exploring the waters around North Carolina’s Ocracoke Island, hunting for sunken treasure. Now, it has fallen to his daughter to decipher his detailed notes, charts, and maps to complete his quest—but Kate knows she needs the help of deep-sea diver Ky Silver. Once, she’d given him her heart, only to break his when she left the island. That was four years ago, and Ky’s the only one she can trust to help her locate the gold. Reunited, Kate and Ky’s search rekindles their passion and recovers something between them even more priceless than a lost treasure.

What a great book! It has real life struggles, tension, excitement, fear, uncertainty and resolution. Nora Roberts is my favorite author and this is one of my favorites now! Nora can keep me up all through the night and leave me excited to resume where I left off. She’s such a wonderful romance writer. She helps you forget your own struggles to get wrapped up in the novel but she also captures real life struggles that you can relate with. Mixed with summer, diving, swimming, boats, treasure and whether one person is an island or if it’s possible for 2 people who are opposite to build a life together instead of tearing each other apart... can’t get any more perfect. I very much appreciate the different types of family that Nora includes. Don’t be afraid to read this one. It’s a treasure in itself!
(I bought this on Kindle but I would also buy it to have in my collection. It’s lovely!)

Kate has spent most of her life doing what her father wanted her to do, without question, because she wanted his approval and love. When her father dies and she goes through his paperwork, she discovers that he had been secretly searching for a sunken English merchant ship that had been lost off the North Carolina coast in the mid-1700's. She decided to finish her dad's quest which meant going back to Ocracoke island where she had met, fell in love, and gave her innocence to Ky, four years earlier. The story covers the search and salvaging of the shipwreck. They also dive together and have run-ins with a stingray and Tiger shark. As they spend the summer working together and diving, they also find their feelings for each other have come back as strong as ever. Will it work the second time around? A well-written story with enough underwater suspense to keep it interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book to treasure!

This story is a really believable and the characters are so alive. Nora describes emotions that feel so real. After i read the sample, there was no way I could not buy this book. Trust me. It might sound far-stretched with the maps and the treasure (for someone like me who doesn't know much about that) but the emotions and the intense moments are so worth it. I absolutely love this book. And even more, I plan to buy it in paperback just so I can have it in my small library of Favorite Novels!

p.s. for those of you who read reviews before buying a book like me, please be kind and write reviews on any books you buy. i know it's sometimes hard to remember which books you bought, or the story might fade a little in your memory but other readers like me really appreciate it. thanx.

I enjoyed the concept of the plot, but was distracted by a couple of things. Having gone scuba diving, I'm familiar with the terminology, equipment and process. It was hard to play out in my mind Ky putting rings to his lips and kissing Kate's hand with a regulator in his mouth. Yes, he could remove the regulator, but that was left out of the narrative. As a speed reader, I also had to slow down when reading the two short names beginning with the letter K.

Classic adventure romance and it is wonderful. All you need to know is that Kate's dad just seriously sucked and was a controlling dick. I loved seeing Kate and Ky get their second chance and grow as people. More growth for Kate than Ky, his progress is slow and he is such a typical alpha.

I'm finding out that the less complicated st o bylines that defined her early writing is as enjoyable in many ways as her m o re layered ones as she matured as a writer. This approach seems to allow m e as the reader to hone in on the characters even more closely and thoroughly. I think I like that!

The book is typical Nora Roberts but was very exciting. I loved the underwater search for the treasures and how she akways brings out the characters. I would love to read a sequel to this book.
