This was a fun, spicy, short, romantic read. I especially loved the fact that there was very little drama (y'know, the extra long "I don’t want you!" Scenes.) Sure, there was a little resistance, but for the most part they both fell hard and fast. I know that drama can make books more exciting, but too much just makes my stomach turn and I often don’t enjoy reading them if they drive me too nuts. So, very pleased with this book, and I hope others will enjoy it too.

Food and water? Check. Shelter? Check. Weapons and ammo? Check. Check.
I thought I was ready when the apocalypse came, but I wasn’t prepared for dirty bunker politics. Realizing I’m no longer welcomed, I step foot into a hostile landscape, ready to face down the deadly space bugs in search of a new home.
It’s just my luck that I run afoul of a massively muscular, horned and fanged Xarc’n warrior on my very first day out. Mur’k carries me back to his hideout, claiming that I owe him for messing up his hunt.
Nope! No way! I didn’t survive the bugs just to become some cocky warrior’s plaything. I don’t care if he’s hot as sin and purrs like a big cat. I’m going to make it to New Franklin on my own if it’s the last thing I do!
A Hunter’s Valentine is a standalone novella-length story set in the Xarc’n Warriors universe featuring a protective hero with alien anatomy. It takes place between Book 8 and 9, but there’s no need to read in order. HEA guaranteed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Valentine!
I love the Xarc'n warriors books! This was a shorter book in the series but you wouldn't know it. It had everything needed for a great story! Mur'k didn't want a mate and Sara didn't want one either but the attraction between the two was over the top! I can't wait for more Xarc'n warrior stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
Sara was a midwife before the bugpocalyps and has been living in a bunker with other survivalists. But her time there is running out as she is hearing rumors that the leader is going to kick her out. So, she plans her escape and runs on her own terms. Unfortunately, she runs into a group of the scourge and gets trapped in a building. When a huge purple Xarc’n warrior comes to her rescue, she is both thankful and scared. The rumors in the survivalist group say the Xarc’n are looking for women and forcing them to mate. Maybe she can just thank him and then run!
Mur’k is a Xarc’n warrior that prefers to hunt the scourge on his own. He doesn’t stay in one area, just goes where he is needed. Many of the warriors have mated with the humans but he is not interested at all. He only works alone and that’s all he needs! He has been working around the New Franklin area and has set up the perfect trap for the bugs. Just as he starts to lure them in, they go in a different direction scenting food. When Mur’k discovers it’s a human female he is angry she ruined his hunt, but he can’t leave her to be eaten by the bugs so he rescues her. But is she thankful, no way! She can’t seem to get away from him fast enough. He wants her to stay and hunt with him because they seem to work well together, but she is determined to get to New Franklin to offer her services to that group.
Even though he doesn’t want a mate, his body seems to have other ideas. He agrees to take her to New Franklin to get rid of her. Sara is thrilled that Mur’k is taking her to New Franklin, but she has gotten attached to the grumpy warrior and is hoping that he might agree to stay there so they can be together. But he drops her off and leaves without even saying goodbye, on Valentines Day no less. Can Mur’k get his act together and admit that he loves her before he ruins the best thing that has ever happened to him?
I love this series and this is another great addition! Another great book by Lynnea!.

4.0 out of 5 stars A satisfying short story
I liked this novella. Although it was short, it conveyed everything – a good plot, romance, emotional struggles, sweet and hot moments. Our main MC’s are Sara and Mur’k. Sara is a midwife. She decides to leave the group she was staying with after the alien “bug” invasion after she overhears the leaders saying that she is now useless to them and want to kick her out. Her goal is to reach New Franklin – a city created by survivors. On her way, she is attacked by these centipede-like nasty aliens, interfering with Mur’k’s hunt of them. He saves her and together they fight them and destroy them. From the moment Mur’k sees her, he starts to feel a bond – a bond he doesn’t want, because he is convinced that he doesn’t want a mate. So, while she also starts developing feelings for him, he decides to help her go to New Franklin and offers her a partnership in hunting the nasty aliens. A miscommunication, some hurt feelings and regrets later – and there you have it. A warm, swoon-worthy romance and a HEA with Valentine’s Day as a background.
All in all, it was a fun, easy read in this amazing dystopian world Lynnea Lee has created. 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars ????????????????????
Sara is striking out on her own in the bugpocalypse to make it to New Franklin. She’s leaving behind the bunker she was surviving in to find a better place. While on this journey she runs right into the hunting grounds of a massive and tough Xarc’n warrior named Mur’k.
He’s a bit perturbed to have his hunt ruined but he’s definitely more than pleased with Sara. He rescues her and takes her with him. They didn’t intend on meeting each other but fate stepped in and their chemistry is undeniable.
Love this story about Sara and Mur’k!! The Xarc’n series is definitely worth reading. There are so many great stories in this collection. Highly recommended!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet love story
I absolutely adore this series! The best part is that each book can stand on its own, so you won't feel lost if you jump in at any point. This particular book is a bit shorter, but trust me, it's still a fantastic read! The Xarc’n characters may be a little different, but they have a wonderful way of charming their human mates with their big, gallant hearts.
In this story, our Xarc’n hero wasn’t actively looking for love, but the universe had other plans! There was a moment when I thought he might have missed his chance, but it seems his hard work is being rewarded. He managed to open his heart to his special someone, and the feeling was mutual! It made Valentine’s Day such a memorable occasion for them. What a sweet love story!.
