I loved McKenna!! Oh my goodness, she didn't let Carter intimidate her at all!! Loved Carter too! He was sexy, smart and dangerous! I can't wait to find out if they end up together even if he believes that he doesn't deserve to be happy!! Good story!! Short and oh so sweet!!

A masterful work of good girl/bad boy trope with a deeeeeep longing of a love that cannot be, but is.....
Wooooo sah! Imagine a doctor being yhe conciliation prize ????. But the heart wants what it wants, and once you've tasted soul food, you can't go back to a TV dinner and ever be SATISFIED. Carter is a true bookbae and McKenna is a true Lady in waiting. They are both smart, funny, sexy, stubborn, capable people who found each other under strange circumstances. Carter's backstory was excellent and was masterfully woven into the reason why...he couldn't, wouldn't stay...but baby....this novella is epically brilliant ???????? ✨️????❣️

I'm okay with this now there's a part two. I held off on reading this story because of other reviews. It was a good read! I like that Carter told McKenna to never settle. Not even when it applies to him. This was a quick read and KC doesn't disappoint.

This was different but very good. Carter had BDE. McKenna was a sweet but smart mouth woman. I loved how the attraction was there even though she didn’t like how it came about. Carter left a soul tie with her. I really needed more on them.
