About this item
Biting banter is all they know. But messy feelings have a way of coming to the surface in this beachside romance from USA Today bestselling author R.S. Grey.
Paige Young and Cole Clark are polar opposites. A world traveler since birth, Paige loves to lead activities for guests at a luxury island resort in Turks and Caicos. From bingo nights to cliffside hikes, Paige is up for anything. Cole, meanwhile, prefers his number-crunching desk job. He’s the assistant director at the resort—stiff and meticulous. He’s so by the book that he keeps the book. In his desk drawer.
They’re perfectly aligned in one way, though—their ability to drive each other crazy. Every day brings a fresh battle of wits. They’re rivals, archnemeses…and they’re definitely never going to talk about that one time they kissed. Ha ha. Nope!
But when Paige finds out that Cole has been ordered to fire her on the same day a hurricane threatens their little slice of paradise, it’s clear the game is over.
At odds, in peril, and forced to shelter in place together, these two enemies might finally have to confront their true feelings. (You know, the ones hidden under all those withering looks.)

Their Last Resort is a fun, light-hearted rom-com. It’s meant to be a quick escape, almost like a vacation. You can always count on R.S. Grey for a story like this.
Paige and Cole work at a resort in Turks & Caicos both passionately loving their jobs. Their relationship started off on the wrong foot and turned into one of rivalries and one upmanship. Paige is fun loving and perky while Cole is strait laced and by the book. Their banter while seemingly spiteful is more like foreplay. Paige’s friends can see it but it takes Paige awhile to get there. Cole is patient and can read Paige and her actions almost better than she can read herself. Paige also makes many assumptions about Cole that are often wrong. I love when a character finally realizes how wrong they are about their rival.
This story is a slow burn but once they figure out their feelings are love not rivalry (mostly Paige) it jumps from enemies to lovers quite quickly. This books is a quick, fun read that will make you laugh and bring a smile to your face. I don’t believe it was intended to be deep so it’s great for when you need a nice pick me up.

will make you chuckle until the end. Lighthearted story that kept my attention!

R.S. Grey is by far my favorite author and her latest release only solidified that!
Their Last Resort was an incredible romantic comedy that had me laughing out loud and wishing I could be a fly on the wall in this resort.
We meet Paige and Cole when they are already set in their ways and the parameters they have set up for themselves around each other to be anything but enemies.
I loved the setting of this novel and how the characters kept up their playful banter throughout everything happening around them. Cole's POV gave me all the feels with the way he swooned over Paige and how much he cared about her while Paige had me cracking up with her dramatics and hilarious exaggerations.
Their Last Resort had all the tension, all the feels and all the comedic charm that R.S. Grey always employs in her novels. If you are looking for a great romantic comedy, you need to grab this novel ASAP!

Paige and Cole are almost nothing alike- Paige is friendly and outgoing and loves leading excursions on the island whereas Cole is more shy and keeps to himself while spreadsheets and numbers get him excited. From the very start of the book it is clear that Paige didn't get along with Cole and every interaction between them was heated with animosity. But what really seemed to be happening is that these two had an attraction to each other and adopted this grade school almost torture teasing relationship.
I've read many books by R.S. before but something about this one felt a little off or disjointed. I never really felt connected to either of the characters and Paige's obsession with trying to hook up with another person to basically distract her from her hate crush on Cole wore on me. I also kind of found myself taken aback as these two went from hardly controlling the barbs they tossed to professing their love to each other after a couple nights stuck together during a hurricane.
Now I didn't dislike this book- it just wasn't my favorite book of Rachel's. I loved the idea of Cole and Paige kind of creating their own found family with each other and their various friends at the Siesta Playa resort. Cole's selfless affection for Paige and determination to keep her safe made my heart happy. Not a bad read- a nice little brain escape.

Cole is very attractive, my kind of man, ambitious, dresses well, and has that whole tall dark and handsome thing going on.
Paige is super cute, she's fun, adventurous, and just there for a good time exploring and enjoying her environment.
It's the perfect book to read while lying on the beach on a tropical island!
