I am rapidly becoming an Ella Quinn fan. Her book THE MARRIAGE LIST was quite good. As usual, she dumped a gazillion characters into the mix way early in her narrative, and I struggled to keep who-was-who / who were whose sisters or brothers-in-law. Large families plus the Season for balls, entertainments and endless rounds of flirting between eligible gentlenen and the women who were having their "come outs" made for a confused reader (moi).
Quinn's ability to draw good characters and put them in motion saves the day. Still, I would have liked a more gradual introduction to the all-star cast, some of whom appeared in previous Quinn books of a different series.
The romance between likeable characters seeking mates and the social commentary of early 19th century Britain kept my attention and taught me something about the Regency period. I had to flip between the novel and my Kindle dictionary to tell what a curicle was.. and don't get me started about the mysterious realm of women's and men's fashion.
All in all, and excellent read. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
