About this item
Enter a world of luxury, lust and love with this scorching first title in T L Swan’s provocative and witty Kingston Lane series.
The first time I laid eyes on Henley James, I was mesmerized.
The chemistry between us was like nothing I’d ever felt.
Impeccable suit, dimpled smile. He was charming and gorgeous, sophisticated and suave. He gave me his business card and asked me to call.
His dating game was strong; I was gone from his first smile. I’d love to tell you our date was a raging success, but it wasn’t. Far from it.
I decided right there on that day that Henley James and I would forever be mortal enemies; I would never think of him again.
Three years later, I bought my dream home. I’m so excited to meet my neighbors—that is, until I do.
Oh no! What are the chances?
It’s him. Still single, still the hottest man alive, and still obnoxiously sarcastic. He saunters around wearing next to nothing and refuses to close the blinds at night.
I will not let myself think of him at all costs. It could be my sanity.
My temptation is a nightmare.

I absolutely love the fact they went from a one night stand to ending up being neighbors. I ate this book up. there is so much that I love about Tee's writing style, and I always know that I am going to get a book that is make me laugh out loud, has amazing banter, and all the swoony feels. there was so much tension and banter with this one and it made the story flow great.
Henley James is so grumpy and possessive and I AM HERE FOR IT. there is something special about a grumpy man written by Tee. he is also a beautifully broken hero. he is closed off to love and comes off as broken in that way. but there is something so perfect about him also. something that draws you to him and you just crave more of him. Juliet gives off a little bit of chaotic energy vibes and I AM HERE FOR IT. she knows what she wants and is not afraid to tell it like it is. she is also hilarious and was making me cackle the whole book. and don't even get me started on the nicknames she has for people. there was so much growth for both MCs and I loved the mental health rep. always hits home and also for me makes the book more relatable. the push and pull between Henley and Juliet will draw you in, and make you also root for them even though they fought it the whole time. there chemistry was amazing and nothing less than perfection. I am so excited to be in a new world that Tee has created. so excited to be on this new journey!

SPOILERS……..
They hook up almost immediately at the start of the book and I just felt the banter between them was cringey and sounded like two old people talking. (It does get better though). After they have sex, he ghosts her and then we get the dreaded miscommunication trope which I absolutely hate and I almost DNFed right there. It jumps to three years later and luckily the miscommunication is cleared up after a couple chapters. Then the book got better and I read the rest of it in one sitting.
T.L. Swan writes the best toxic heroes. Henley was so toxic he was almost ridiculous. I liked Juliette and I thought she handled Henley well. They played a lot of mind games with each other but it was pretty funny. They did have amazing intense chemistry. The sex scenes (after the beginning hook up) were very intense and emotional. However, I HATE it when she uses the word “creamy” and she also used the term “slurping” —-I never want to read those words during a sex scene again!!
There’s a lot of back and forth with these two— but it was well done. I couldn’t put this book down because I needed to know what was going to happen. He’s pretty terrible to her. When he breaks it off with her, he was brutal. Now I know a lot of reviewers thought he didn’t grovel, but I felt he groveled pretty darn good. He was in agony over her and I absolutely ate that up. He still couldn’t stop hurting her though and he tells her to move on (he totally reminded me of Jameson Miles), and when she does, he loses his ever loving mind. It was spectacular!! I loved the scene where she forgives him, and after he poured his heart out, I would have too. The rest of the book was still suspenseful. I even liked the drama with his assistant at the end. I’m totally excited for the next book (although I DO NOT want to read about Blake and his threesomes????).
All in all it was a good read, not great but not bad. Still made me smile and giggle.
