5.0 out of 5 stars Well-written, believable, and characters you can easily relate to

“Who said romance is dead?” A quote from Julia, the protagonist. Little did she know that while she was saying it, her romantic love WAS ACTUALLY DEAD, and she never even met him in this reality.
At first glance, I thought this would be just another romantic novel. After reading the description, I figured it would be an interesting time travel romance, so I chose this one for my free reads of the month. Actually, this goes beyond the usual time travel romance. It’s a glimpse into a parallel universe, where in another reality, things are very different, and could have changed the course of her life. I like time travel romances, but this book is a notch above the others. It’s a story that both entertains the mind and enlightens the soul, to realize that parallel realities actually do not exist. There are unlimited parallel realities, and most of the time, we are unaware as we take forks in the road, weaving and winding through events in our lives that could have taken a major turn in another direction if we had only… Sarah J. Harris presents the situation and characters in a very believable way. She is an excellent writer, occasionally using a swear word here and there, but not to overwhelming extents, as some other writers do. It’s easy to be swept away into Julia’s world as she discovers that the man in her dreams is in truth, real, or WAS real, when she was supposed to meet him on that bridge a year ago. He died one year ago. And she never met him, except in dreams… or did she? And is that the reason why she has developed narcolepsy, sleeping at odd times during the day? Is she trying to find a path to an event that occurred one year ago? Is she trying to revive memories of something that never happened in her life, or maybe events that did happen, in a parallel universe? And what can she do to save the love of her life?
If you like time travel romances, this one is a great choice! It will have you wondering about parallel realities, and it might even inspire you to delve into parallel realities of your own. The story is outstanding, and I highly commend it!

I love time travel romance stories. This gives you all the butterflies and warm fuzzies inside, hoping the two characters can be together. I loved all the way things tied up in the end. It was clever and had me hooked.

I loved this story about families, true love, time travel, sacrifice, and learning harsh life lessons.

The FMC is 25 and has narcolepsy. It's a gene that activated when she turned 25 and it's seriously messing with her life. She also suffers from cataplexy which is causing just as much havoc. She has been plagued by nightmares her entire life involving an unknown man with a knife and drowning. Her job sucks. Her boss is a misogynistic bully. Her BF is a jerk. Her grandmother is in a home due to advanced stages of Alzheimer's. And she's just received a necklace from her grandmother that unbeknown to her, allows her to travel through time, where she meets "the one". When she awakens she thinks it was all a dream but goes to their planned meeting place only to discover he died the year before, while saving the lives of two other people. So begins her journey to somehow change the past allowing her and him to be together without destroying the lives of hundreds of others.

This story was so well crafted and flowed so smoothly. It was a joy to read and these characters may very stay with me for a while. With surprising turns and twists it kept me captivated.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unique plot but I wasn't convinced

I felt lost a lot of the time with the way the time travel worked. I know that must be a hard thing to write about convincingly but the confusing nature of it did not lend to the credibility of the action. The other thing I didn't find convincing was the dialogue. I just didn't really believe people would talk like that or truly say the things they said to each other. The dialogue seemed more informational to describe characters' feelings and motivations than realistic things one person would say to another, which made things seem contrived. So from these perspectives I just could not get sucked into the story.

Interesting twist to time travel . Descriptions of art work made the pictures come alive in one’s mind eye. Something for everyone from many genres .

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a surprise….

This book instantly had me hooked. The author wrote about the main character’s experiences with narcolepsy. Her descriptions were spot on with how narcolepsy presents its self. I have narcolepsy and could totally relate to Julia’s experiences. Now, I do not have a time travel capability, but that was a fun story line to follow. Beyond the narcolepsy, there were several other touch points with maternal characters and Alzheimer’s. All of which were carefully written and relatable to many. I enjoyed the read.

I really enjoyed this book. There's a lot going on, and at times difficult to follow, but so engrossing that I'm going to read it again (now knowing how it ends). I definitely recommend!

I often take a "leap of faith" to read an author recommended by Book Bub. Sometimes the books are OK, sometimes really good. But this is one I couldn't put down and was sorry when it ended. The characters are wonderful - I feel as if I know them all. It's a combination of a mystery and a romance. Don't miss it!
