About this item

From J. Bree, bestselling author of The Bonds That Tie, comes the second installment in her epic and enthralling romantasy series.

In our arrogance, the high fae forgot everything that mattered.

I carved out a reputation as the Savage Prince for my brutality against witches, but unable to wield our magic, I couldn’t stop my kingdom from being torn apart by war and famine while the Fates demanded my patience.

The worst was still to come.

After almost a thousand years of waiting for my Fates-blessed mate, and thousands of witches dead by my hand, the Fates revealed their cruelest truth yet.

With silver eyes that sliced to the bone and a humility that defied all reason, the witch I’m bound to has tested every inch of my restraint, but that was only the beginning.

Everything I once knew as true has come into question.

Loyalties will be tested, treaties broken, treason committed, and only the strongest will survive.

I am Prince Soren Celestial.

The rightful heir to the throne of the Southern Lands.

Nothing will keep me from my Fates-blessed mate.

Not even her hatred for me.

*The Throne of Honor and Blood is a full-length MF epic fantasy romance with material that may be difficult for some readers. This book will end on a cliffhanger. It's recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations. Book 2 of a 3-book series.

I think it’s safe to say this met every single thing I was hoping for and then some!

Whoa. ???? Just simply whoa. This book rocked me to the core with it’s intensity and brilliance and that ending…..ugh. That ending ???? I’m still reeling from this ending and my heart hurt so baaaad for like three days straight. Pemba ???? my freaking heart….not PEM!!!! The bond between them as siblings was just so freaking palpable and strong and good grief, I literally hurt so bad the last two pages of this book. The revelations that J Bree drops on you is almost too much….and now to wait to see how Soren reacts ????

I’ve been waiting for this sequel for a year. Read the first three (two novellas and the first book) the day they were released. So it’s been a long wait….and man was it worth it! I’m sure people are going to say Soren didn’t grovel enough to earn Rooke, but I say that J Bree wrote it so beautifully that it didn’t matter to me that he didn’t grovel as much as I think everyone would have wanted.

Soren and Rooke are just so freaking amazing together. I love their fire and rough edges and they compliment each other so well. The moment this book started you knew Soren was completely focused on Rooke, beecause let’s be honest…she is literally the baddest of the baddies and I wanna be her when I grow up ❤️ We see a glimpse of Rooke’s power and baddie-ness at the end of book one and then J Bree ups the ante and goes for on BADA$$ at the end. Ugh. The fact that she was able to call a LEGION of blood witches to get her revenge for the outcast blood witches killing her family…CHEF’S KISS!!! ???? Baylor’s shock….amazing. And then we find out they’re related. Come on!!! It was freaking epic.

I also love the bonding that is going on with all the other characters. They are creating this incredible group of people that are fierce, loyal, kind, baddies soldiers for their journey in getting rid of the STINK that is within the kingdom. And we get to see some heads roll ????

I love the alliances that are starting to form and how we got a small glimpse of what Rooke went through in the Fates War that has made her into who she is. It’s inredible. We get a taste of her family while fighting in the war with Cerson and it’s amazing how attached I am to her even though she was only in half the book. I was so sad for her when I realized Pemba was dead and her mate was gone. ???? I literally can not wait to see how Soren will win over Hanede (if that’s even a possibility ????).

J Bree, well done!!! I loved every minute of it. The writing was incredible and beauitful and the characters continue to grow and mature. The nature of the magic and how it’s all woven together is breathtaking!

Some minor editing errors, but I didn’t even mind cause I loved it so much!

4.0 out of 5 stars needs serious editing

This is the first books I’ve read by this author. Here are my thoughts:
Pros: world building is beautifully detailed, every character is well thought out and interesting, FMC strong, resilient, bada$$, kind and selfless, MMC true enemies to lovers trope and the no one even look at my mate vibes, the story is simply one of my favorites-so so good I couldn’t put it down, and it just keeps getting better.
Cons: needs an editor pronto- so many grammatical errors, almost every page, it was distracting from the story and just annoying; it is dense with superfluous narration and unnecessary minute details, it can be halved and still tell the same amazing story without missing any plot lines.
I was hoping this would be a duet due to the needless length but alas hoping this ends in the trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb masterpiece

I'm in awe of this story. Soren's unyielding cave man personality with refined living and Rooke's kind, unending, unwavering love for all things. What a cliffhanger!!!!!!!!! Geez! My ONLY issue-which is severe for me, is this series' editing. Words are missing or words added into sentences that make it impossible to understand unless you reread the sentences without that particular extra word. Your editor should be fired!
Otherwise, I'm enthralled by the storyline and its originality! I hate the waiting game until the next book, but such as life!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING second installment

I am obsessed with this series - it is a TRUE enemies to.. something type of book where the FMC isn't just ready to throw it all aside and jump in bed with the MMC. While I wish there was a bit more groveling, you can tell that our FMC is guarded and not wrapping the MMC into her plans, calculations and motives. I love that while the MMC is on a certain path to win her over, the FMC is still just working on her plans of redemption and fate. She is STRONG and we continue to see her be heroic and admirable at every turn. I wish more MC's were written like this one. I cannot wait to continue to read this series, I need to know where this is going.

If you are reading this review to see if the series is worth it, IT IS. If you are reading to see if this installment is worth it, YES IT IS. It is not a quick read, there is a lot going on and a lot to absorb but it is WORTH it. And this story is so beautifully written, it truly makes it difficult to read a less well written book afterwards. Truly an amazing series.
