About this item

There are only a few rules I live by: enjoy life, smile as often as possible, and don’t ever let a woman come between friends.

Oh and hockey is life.

For the past forty years I’ve done an excellent job at every single one of them.

Until Millie Hall.

To be fair, I had no idea who she was that first night. Can’t say the same about the second.

Finding out that the mystery girl who turned my world upside down was the twin sister of my star left winger and my best friend’s twenty-two year old daughter is less than ideal.

Hiding our relationship from not only her father but my brothers, nearly impossible.

But my best friend makes it incredibly difficult to walk away from his daughter when he keeps thrusting her in my direction.

As a single dad, I have a whole set of new rules, but one thing remains, falling for Millie Hall would be a major puck up.

Author’s Note: A Major Puck Up is an angsty forbidden love between fan favorite Gavin Langfield-Coach of the Boston Bolts and Millie Hall, his best friend's daughter. With text banter from the Langfield brothers, one mysterious baby on a door step, a singing Boston Bolts hockey team, hot tub shenanigans and quite a few ducks.

I don’t think I can sing the praises of this book loud enough, but I’m going to try. It was so incredibly fantastic that I stayed up until 5am to finish it because I just could not stop reading it. Every time I finish a book by Brittanée Nicole I think it can’t get much better and then it does!!! Wow!! Gavin and Millie’s story is fire, it’s a volcano and it’s 100% magical! This book has so much heat, love, passion and angst. I was crying reading some of it, squealing at other parts, laughing out loud. I mean this was a ride of epic proportions.

    Some of the Tropes:

    Best friend’s daughter
    Age-gap
    Hockey Sports Romance
    Single-Dad
    Billionaire

The storyline in this book tugged at my heart strings so hard. I fell in love with Gavin and I already loved him from some of the previous books he showed up in. He’s got such heart, soul and love. The man was born to love and love fiercely. I’m gone for all the Langfield men, but I did not expect Gavin to be so incredibly magnificent. The way his story unfolds had me on the edge of my seat. He falls hard for Millie Hall not knowing she’s his BFF’s daughter. He hadn’t really ever seen her growing up and she didn’t give him her name when they first met. So instead he calls her Peaches and the way that nickname becomes to mean so much more is everything!!

Millie Hall is still trying to come to terms with her dad marrying someone not much older than herself and trying to figure out how she fits into his life now. She’s angry and not sure what she’s doing with her life when a plan she makes takes an unexpected turn. The last thing Millie thought would happen is falling for her Dad’s BFF. The relationship between Gavin and Millie takes many twists and turns. I was rooting for them the whole way and don’t even get me started on the love between all the Langfield brothers. Their relationships with each other makes me yearn for that kind of family and I love seeing how they support one another. Throw in a baby into the whole mix and that’s it. Heart stolen.

This book has heart soooo much passion! There’s plenty of spice and romance to thaw any heart. You are going to be so satisfied when you get to the end. It’s so worth it. This might be one of my all time favorite books! I can wait to keep reading this series. Thank you for this one Brittanée Nicole. My heart is so happy!

I loved the age gap and being Dads best friend, I haven’t read many books with dads best friend trope and it was fun to read. The book does skip all around in timelines, which I’m not sure how I feel about. But it was a great emotional story to Millie finding her worth and growing up, a beautiful found family trope hidden in there. A splash of drama and I’d say about a 2-3 on the spice level. Parts of this book had me laughing out loud with the banter between the friends and brothers. For a sport romance there was a lot packed in here and it’s Deff worth the read if you like these types of tropes, you will have fun with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The way Brittanee's mind creates and connects storylines is nothing but beautiful!

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ ????️????️????️????️

Brittañee has held my heart with two Langfield brothers, but she carved out a special spot for Gavin with this book! Gavin and Millie are beyond perfection and their story is written with so much love and emotion it is hard to not declare a new favorite brother!
Age gap stories are tricky for me to enjoy. They are either done well or just wrong. Brittañee writes this age gap love story so well, there was not one spot that the cringe factor even begins to hit. She takes so much care to ensure her audience knows the characters are very aware and the problems their ages can start. The pull they two MCs feel for each other while trying to fight it, could be felt in my soul! There was not one bit of eww to this story and the way Gavin loves Millie, is nothing but pure.
Gavin has been in her stories before. The proud owner of the Bolts, billionaire playboy, and not looking to change. However, seeing his brother’s find love, something begins to stir within in and he realizes he wants what his brothers have. What started out as revenge for Millie, turns into the greatest love story of her life. Only in her twenties, she is written with such maturity that you tend to forget she is only in her twenties. However, Gavin can see where she struggles and refuses to be her dirty secret and with heavy feet and a heavy heart he walks away.
Meet Vivi, Gavin’s daughter (or so everyone thinks) that enters the storyline and he can’t remember who he fathered a child with. He admits the truth to himself though very early on, but will not abandon Vivi as her mother did. When Millie enters his life again, she is determined to win him back and volunteers to become Vivi’s live in nanny. As these two are in forced proximity of each other, their feelings ebb and flow, but it all leads to a realization that neither one of them can deny. When their relationship comes to light, tragedy strikes, and neither one is sure if they can go on without the other. These three have become an unconventional family, but a family nonetheless, and the bounds that tie them together only become stronger and stronger as this story plays out.
Brittañee has always been a favorite author, but every book she writes, she just showcases her ability to weave stories into one another beautifully. Her readers are getting easter eggs dropped into books written years before that main story is published. We see this with Gavin throughout Pucking Revenge as he is wearing a friendship bracelet with “peaches” spelled out. The way her mind is able to intertwine stories years apart is beyond incredible. And they are woven seamlessly. There are no gaps, no plot holes, not incomplete story arcs. I am so excited to see how she grows as a writer as she continues her career.

As always, review trigger warnings before reading.

There was a lot of storylines for the same characters. I think we hit every trope so it was a lot! I loved Gavin and Millie though.
