    Short, sweet, and oh so good! For a quick read, this one has plenty of sweet moments from Mr. Darcy, as he tries to prove to Elizabeth, he would be worthy of her love. Very enjoyable!

    I love this series of quick reads. They provide the same quality of writing and wonderful characterizations of the author’s longer works in a story one can finish in an afternoon. This one offers a quick resolution after the Netherfield Ball. My one wish would be for an appropriately short epilogue.

    We don't get much of Darcy's angst in this variation, but that's not bad at all. This Darcy is decisive and humble and appalled that Collins has proposed to Elizabeth. Darcy makes sure that his proposal is much better than the one he overhears Collins giving.

    Like many authors seem to be doing recently, this one has created a story with an interesting premise that went by so quickly that the story became ridiculous. If a book really needs to be this short, then slow some passage of time in it somehow. I hope it is not spoilers to anyone that there was a HEA, but to have one on something like 2 days time makes it difficult to take any of the characters seriously.

    A nice short read. I did wish for a little more to happen during the course of almost 70 pages. Maybe a little less Mr. Bennet and Mr. Collins and more E&D time.

    But Darcy is yummy in this and Elizabeth, once her mind is opened by her father, sees things more clearly. Including herself.

    Ms. Knowles is an excellent storyteller and this novella is no exception. As much as I would have liked a few more chapters, I enjoyed this story because it primarily focused on Lizzy and Darcy and because it showed Mr. Bennet as not only sardonic and irascible, but wise, as well.
