Due to the final pages, I'm unable to give a fair review. The "surprise" was exactly what I wanted from the series and tipped the issue into LOVED category, despite the flaws in the overall issue.
I can say, this issue solidified why I've had difficulty with the art in the run. I've come to realize the art feels "plastic" to me. As a result, the emotional beats just do not hit. It was only as the "surprise" was revealed did I *feel* the story. Williamson's storied generally rely on that emotional connection. The art, as pretty and technically sounds as it is, has blocked that connection for me.
Still the twist makes this issue a favorite of mine.
