This is an amazing series, and I have enjoyed every book in it so far. I like the character development and skills of the series and how it is explained in the story. I can't wait for the next book to release and continue this amazing story.

About this item
The raid did not turn out to be what he was expecting…
After some unsettling news brought to them by an unexpected messenger, Prince Edgar fled the Raid Dungeon to hurry back to his kingdom, leaving Derek as the impromptu leader. Being concerned about his people on the outside, Derek chose to rule with an iron fist to finish the dungeon as soon as possible.
This choice didn’t make him any friends, but he didn’t need any for it to work.
By taking the strongest to battle, he was able to lead the remaining party members to a successful dungeon completion, though, not without casualty.
Things are never easy. On their way out of the dungeon, Derek and Silvi were abducted by a strange elf of unknown power. This man, known only as Dave, was strangely helpful and shared much of Derek’s own distaste of the system interference that had been occurring ever since his evolution.
Now, with more questions than ever before, and answers to questions that he’d never thought to ask, Derek and Silvi head back to Savannah to lend their help. What has happened to Cydaria? Was Edgar and Blitz leaving the raid the correct decision? Did Cydaria even need the prince’s help? What does dragon taste like when properly cooked?
Don’t miss the sixth installment of Derek’s journey in the System Universe. Join Derek in this unique combination of the LitRPG, Isekai, and Slice of Life genres. He has friends, a bond that should last forever, and even a home. What more could our overpowered protagonist ask for?

Ohhhh man what fun. And I love Derek and Silvi the murder bunny companion and chef!

Ohhhh man what fun!!! There's nothing I like better than listening to a story narrated by Adam Verner... about Derek Hunt and his murder bunny companion Silvi especially Silvi... Silvi besides fighting like well... a monster ???? her other skill is cooking. Not only is Silvi good at it she's constantly leveling, but she's discovered a way to level it while fighting even receiving a new class Mythical Void Battle Chef. So you're gonna wanna grab this audiobook and enjoy this action-packed story, you'll get to check in on the war Derek and Silvi find themselves facing and finding out what's goin on at Derek's safe haven the Void Emporium if only to relax while checking in all the friends Derek's adopted as family!
Here's a couple of quotes that amused me:
“It is Astrus, and you would do well to remember it.” “I’m not so sure about that.” Derek shrugged. “I think Asterisk would be a much better name for your country. You know, because that’s the only way it’s going to be mentioned in the history books."
"...really comfortable chairs. Just because your asses are padded with stats doesn’t mean you should neglect them."

great series continues

The series is great but some of the short episodes lack a little to get 5 stars. This one lacked some adventure. The action was fine but some more adventure could have been added with Jace to make up for the lack with the mc. I thought this book would finally get us to the system confrontation but was short and a little boring at times, yet I won’t miss the next episode.

I truly love this book, and the entire series. I do wish that, after ~1.5 books Derek had spent more time with his family, but I get the need to settle the war business first. I can't wait to see what happens if Sabrina ever learns that royal mistresses are a thing.
Keep writing!

I (mostly) like how the story is progressing. I must say the author injects a fair amount of comedy into what could otherwise be grisly.
I also understand the Jace story being the prologue/epilogue and leading up to the systems clashing. But honestly I still think it should have been spun off into a parallel series and then the two stories combined to kick off a third continuing series.

I'd say this one felt the slowest of them all. Not a lot got done. Still a great story and such and these things needed wrapped up and handled that the story covered but.... slower pace than the others. Doesn't mean it's a bad thing. But next book I wanna see MC kicking butt up down left right side to side back and front.

Quite good, needs editing

A delightful continuation of Derek and Silvi's adventures, with singularly excellent side characters, as usual. Unfortunately, there are a number of misspellings that spellcheck won't catch: "part" instead of "party," "other" instead of "others," etc. The author just needs someone to do a read through and catch these things before publishing. The story definitely deserves the love. And, as always, I'm looking forward to more...

limited progression *some spoilers ahead*

TLDR: The Plot develops less than anticipated, with an embarrassment of useless details about uninteresting things, leaving other more exciting aspects bereft of detail. Unfortunately, it is not as good as previous installments, although it is still a good book compared to other offerings in the same genre. If you liked the first five, you won't hate this one.
My thoughts:
The storyline in this one is limited and focuses on all the wrong things. After most of the last two novels take place in a single dungeon (a lame challenge dungeon at that), I hoped the story would start progressing again as it did in the first few books. At first, it seemed this would be the case, as Derek and Silvi quickly ended the war with the combined army once they were out, but plot development stalled around halfway through when they took off to quell the human nation of Astrus. The book spent an inordinate amount of time on the idea of a joint wedding between Sabrina (the Elven envoy) and one of Edwin's nephews, Robert. Then, the final battle with what was left of Astrus' nobility was a bit anticlimactic, and Derek ended up just toying around with a bunch of regular army soldiers who were no challenge. At the same time, Alana and Marrick fought the only challenging individuals left. Then, the last 25% of the book is kind of a monotonous slog of wedding details and inner monologue, except for a brief but predictable fight scene where Derek once again uses an opponent as a training aide. Still, it is rushed and feels formulaic instead of fun, like similar interactions in previous books.
Derek needed more interaction with almost all the characters from the first few books, who are, nominally, the driving force behind his, often mentioned, changing personal preferences about being alone vs. having people he cares for and feels responsible for. I had been looking forward to those interactions and storylines picking up again. However, except for a few interactions with Brandi and Mal and some internal monologue mentioning Thomas, there is disappointingly little mention given to some of my favorite secondary characters. By the end of the book, he plans to ditch most of those people in favor of other pursuits, so it does not look like they will be a major part of the story as we advance. On a more positive note, if the author puts a little more thought into the next installment, the upcoming time that Derek is supposed to spend adventuring with Alanah should be fun, although I hope it can be done without Avery tagging along.
It was interesting to see the elf characters become a little more fleshed out; I ended up liking Ryven and Osian much more than I would have suspected based on the last couple of books. Marrick was a fun new character, too. Although the way that Osian just rolled over and submitted when Derek and co. showed up in his throne room was a little anti-climatic.
The editing was reasonably good. However, a few instances of missing words threw me off, and a few places where using italics to denote mental conversation and occasionally inner thoughts was inconsistent, making it necessary to reread some passages.
Complaints aside, I look forward to the next book, which will hopefully return to a more consistent plot development pace and have more interaction between Alanah and Derek. It would be nice if Derek, being part of a different system, had removed the 250-level cap, as if it does not, character development will likely stagnate.
