Heather and Victor are still feeling the pull of something from long ago between them and are trying to find out what that might be and worry about how it might affect others in the family and community. While this is going on, River is fighting his internal demons with the help of several from the tribe in the old ways. Heather goes along one night and is snuck in the back door of the yert to see how her brother is fairing and is smacked in the face with some realities she had never realized.

As they all work to get River back on a natural field, feeling start to grow rapidly.

Heather and Victor are just about to engage in a long overdue kiss when his phone goes off interrupting everything. Her brother River is going through an emotional cleansing where women are not allowed. As Heather seeks a peek inside she finds Sammi her best friend from school who is now a high powered lawyer dealing with River. When Heather went away to become a clothes designer River lost whatever balance he had in life and turned to drugs. Heather is now as per her Grandmother’s will the new local healer and stabilizer of all in the tribe, this gift being passed down from one generation to another. Heather now realizes why several things in her life have happened. I received this book free as an ARC from Ivory Fields and I leave this review voluntarily.

River was having a melt down. The Choctaw men took him to Harlowe's for a ritual to try to break him free from his past.
Victor received a radio message from one of the men "Harlowe , NEEDS YOU HERE NOW!!! River is completely untethered, and we can't get him back. Victor got up to leave, but Heather demanded to go with him. Victor allowed her to come, but told her to keep out of Rivers sight.
Heather learned a lot in those few hours . And, found out a lot about River and herself and Choctaw ritual.

    Again, another great read Ivory.
I received this ARC from Ivory and am leaving my honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new characters!!

Added into this installment are some interesting new characters.
Heather's former coworker, Patrick has arrived in town and has brought his new friend, Rodney. I think they will be a great addition. Sammi's character gets plays a bigger role in this one and she is great. I think all of these characters will come to play a role in helping Heather decide where her future lies. I can't wait to see what will come next. I am hoping that Heather can find some way to work things out for themselves while still helping River.

Heather seems to be relaxing more. Her contentment seems to be radiating through her and touching all of the relationships in her life. Her gift of weaving has reappeared. Her newly acquired cooking and gardening skills are next to none. Will she be able to fix the remaining and most important relationships in her life? Maybe then she really will be back home!

In book 4 Heather is adjusting to her new situation as she discovers exactly what the terms of iPokni’s will mean. She struggles as she learns how River has been affected by life decisions. Some of Sammi’s secrets are revealed during a visit. As her felling grow for Victor, she wonders what the future holds? How will her new guests arrival affect life?
