About this item

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden comes an electrifying medical thriller, Dead Med, originally published as Suicide Med.

"All I can think about is how pathetic it would be to die in the anatomy lab. The last thing I want is to become one of the dead bodies."

When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the
sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs.

But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and
her world starts to crumble.

Everyone has a breaking point.

Then, on the night before the final exam in anatomy,
a shot rings out through the hallways of Dead Med.

The school has claimed yet another casualty. One of Heather's classmates
has done the unthinkable, and before her desperate 911 call even connects, it will happen again.

And the night is just beginning.

NOTE: Dead Med was originally published as Suicide Med. Dead Med is a revision with 20% new material.

I especially like that Freida McFadden does not back off once she starts to unravel the parts of her puzzle. In exploring the lives of

medical students with theirs amazing abilities and expected fears, this writer takes us through the rigors of medical coursework and lab experiences. She shows us character flaws and strengths with enough

of "McFadden-ism" to unfold enough drama to keep us reading all night. Still my favorite author by far.

Frieda always coming out with amazing books but this one has to be one of my top favorites, lots of characters but made it very cohesive and readable. Loved everything about this highly recommend

3.0 out of 5 stars Kinda good, kinda meh

Don't get me wrong, I love Freida, but this book bugged me in a few ways. Some minor spoilers ahead.
First, it begins strong with some suspense, but then it goes back in time and we see events from different characters' perspectives, but it starts with a fairly boring character, and I'm sure it's supposed to portray that this character is not super bright, but it came across as poor writing. Then there were just too many characters' perspectives. Then it suddenly gets exciting and suspenseful again, to just end suddenly. Finally there's a flash-forward epilogue that kinda tries to tie everything together again, but just ends with me wanting more

I enjoyed listening to this book. Frieda did a great job transitioning the story telling perspective from character to character and slowly building the plot and story through the various characters. I’m not always a fan of novels that jump back and forth a lot, but in this novel each character’s portion of the story is continuous until it changes to the next character so it doesn’t feel disjointed of like a brain teaser.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST AUTHOR EVER!!!

She makes other authors disappoint. SERIOUSLY! If you haven't read any of her books? DON'T.... Seriously! You are creating a serious ADDICTION if you do!

I found her by posting on Facebook for recommendations... because I am a serious Psychological thriller addict and was running out of options. Several people recommended her. I said " OK what's your favorite book?". They all seriously, honestly, I kid you not....replied, " I can't pick one. They are all GOOD!"

Oh come on!! Seriously?!?!?! So that was the first time I ever heard that response from book lovers!

They weren't wrong. Seriously! Just pick one, start anywhere and try not to let the page turners take over all of your time as you devour each and every one of them LOL. My family luckily has not abandoned me but that's probably because I have read all of her books now LOL

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great story from Freida!

When I want a great, well written suspense book to read I know I can always count on this author. Originally written 10 years ago, this revamped version lives up to Freida’s high standards. A unique approach, telling the story through different characters perspectives up to the climax event, added an enjoyable twist. As more pieces fall into place, the possible outcome switches multiple times. A great read!
