I bought this to use at work. Coworkers use it every day, it's the perfect size for one or two people. It's simple enough that anyone can figure it out without a tutorial. Boil time is a little longer than it takes to microwave lunch.

It is a great kettle and works as described. It is very light and compact and doesn't make much noise when boiling. You can fill it with a maximum of 4 cups. Be mindful that there is no temperature control, you only can turn it on to boil water. I recommend it as a convenient and small kettle!

This kettle is meant for the office. There are two keurigs at work that everyone uses but no one ever cleans or descales. I have been at my job for almost six months now and I have been fearful of the keurigs just because I can only imagine the crap that will be floating in hot steaming cups of water. This kettle is my solution. It holds enough water to make ramen at my desk or to quickly prepare pho noodles when I bring pho to work. Because it is not temperature controlled, I would only recommend it for making French press, instance coffee, or black tea at work if one were to purchase it for making beverages rather than heating water for food. I store this little kettle in a large drawer above my desk with my other mini appliances and it takes up less space than my mini soup pot. I will warn that the lid needs to be properly closed before boiling and pouring your water. Be gentle with it, don't just treat it like it's a larger kettle because it's not. I have not had any issues with it but I have ready other reviews stating the latter. I take good care of the items I spend money on in hopes of making them last so if you want this cute little kettle to last, treat it well and descale it as needed.

I got this kettle specifically due to its small size. Since I exclusively use it for nightly tea, which is only 12oz. So a half liter kettle would be way overboard. And considering it’s price, this little thing is brilliant!

The design is gorgeously simple, (especially the white, very bauhaus). In terms of how it functions, it’s very simple, but it works well. You simply pour the water into the kettle, pop it on the plate that connects it to power, and flip the switch. It’ll turn off once it starts boiling. It’s also built very well. While it’s made of plastic, it’s very nice and sturdy plastic. It’s also heavy, much heavier than it looks. Which makes sense since there’s a metal heating plate that boils the water.

I have also noticed some people in the reviews complaining about the metal boiling plate in the kettle becoming tarnished after being used a couple times. While this also happened to me, its purely cosmetic, and has no effect on the function of the kettle. It’s just the minerals in the water being burned into the surface. It’s more common if you have hard water. If you just really hate the idea of the boiler plate in your kettle looking tattered, you can use bottles or filtered water. But frankly I just don’t see why you would even care.

My only real gripe is that you are not able to clean the inside of the kettle. Bodum recommends you simply fill it up to the maximum fill line and let it boil out to clean it. While I understand that the kettle has electronics inside that could be damaged with contact with water, it’s a bit naf they don’t even let you remove the top lid to wipe out the inside with a damp cloth or something. Small grip but it annoys me, so here it is :p

Overall I would recommend this for any single person household. It’s great and I love it, wonderful job bodum ????

I've been using the Bodum electric kettle for the past decade, and it has stood the test of time. Initially, I had a hiccup with the first kettle I received—the switch decided to take early retirement. However, Bodum's customer service was top-notch, and they promptly sent me a replacement.

The replacement kettle has been a daily workhorse for about ten years now. It does what it’s designed to do: it heats water fast. The kettle has survived countless morning grumbles and nighttime tea cravings without missing a beat. It’s more energy efficient than boiling water on the stove (as I used to do), and the auto shut off is a key feature.

I love the style and design of this product. And it works really efficiently. This is my second one, and I noticed that it doesn’t have the bell that rings when the water is fully boiled. That is my only complaint. My previous model had a little bell that went off so I could hear when the water was ready.

It does only one thing and does it well - it boils water and automatically shuts off with a satisfying “click”. The Bodum kettle takes up very little space in the kitchen which is half the reason I chose it. I’ve been using it to boil water for coffee every day for the past three months and I’m very happy.
