Easy of use and quick heating makes this a great cheaper option for an electric kettle. The water was boiled quickly and was a perfect alternative to a big name brand. It’s a nice size, despite only using it for me but I think it will be great for future family gatherings - our family loves to have English tea after meals. I did not notice any particular issue with taste or smell. I would recommend. My only complaint was the plastic itself was a little scratched on the handle, but it isn’t noticeable.

As a HUGE tea lover who brews multiple cups a day, the Peach Street Brand 1.7L 1500W Speed-Boil Water Electric Kettle in White has been a fantastic addition to my little sitting room. You will not believe this thing. It literally heats up your water in two seconds. And it’s really pretty and fun to watch. It heats the water and then shuts off so you don’t have to worry about it. It’s got a short cord too, so you don’t have extra wires all around your kitchen. It’s really amazing.

I love the idea of a clear kettle. It lights up pretty with blue lights when on. Boils water fast. My only complaint is that the top stopped latching after a few months.

I’ve had it about a month and it works great. Heats water quickly. I do wish the lid opened a bit more but it’s not a deal breaker. I heat water for sealing braids, washing dishes, filling my hot water bag for when I have headaches, mopping the floors, pouring down clogged sinks. It’s so convenient! I now can use my hot water drink dispenser for tea only and not to fill my headache bags. Felt like a waste and that water isn’t cheap.

Overall this is a great product. It boils water quickly and has a dull reliability which is what I got it for. I bought it during Prime Days and thought to hold off a review until I had put it through its paces. I do not boil water for drinking but I do boil water and other liquids for other things and this so far hasn't skipped a beat. I don't recommend boiling anything but water in it but it's your choice. So far 7 months and no issues for me and still works and looks new.

To get it to last try these Pro-Tips!

1. Keep the lid clean and clean the plastic really well to avoid contamination build-up that can cause it to break down prematurely. Since I don't use mine for human consumption I treated the plastic and it looks as good as new. If you plan to use it for human consumption, cleaning the plastic with boiling water works well.

2. Never let it run down too low, I always boil at least half a container. The reason for this is these heating elements are kind of flimsy, and if the water gets too low or runs out somehow and the safety doesn't kick in, or its right on the margin, the heating element gets so hot you wear it out. If you are transferring all the heat into the water, the element doesn't overheat, and will last a good long time. This is true of this item and many like it. It does however take more energy to boil more water, this is true.

3. To clean it you can use a little CLR or the like to clean the pot and clean where it sits on the element and the bottom. Don't use anything too harsh but keeping it clean is key.

Just follow the instructions and your on your way. Really loved the blue color when boiling the water. Unit automatically shuts off when done. So you know when to pour. Recommend using bottle water; not tap water as it will possible leave a hard water film on the glass; but it is easily solved following the manufacturers cleaning instructions. The pot since it is all glass might be a little heavy for some people; but the handle works perfectly. Great design and it is a Bargain. I stopped using my metal pot. Highly recommend it. Also hoping Amazon possibly store the glass pot as separate time in case of a accident. Bob
