I bought this to replace a stove top kettle. Wish I had done so a lot sooner. It heats water so quickly! And you can select exactly which temperature you need as soon as I used mine I bought one for my dad as a gift. Makes the tea ritual more precise! Quiet. Quick. Easy to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 years later…

Three years later and she’s still going strong. I can confidently say I love this kettle. I keep seeing other more expensive and “high end” kettles and think about replacing it but I just can’t. She’s been so good to me. Even after someone accidentally spilled some water on the buttons, she still works great. Here are a few tips that I recommend to take care of your kettle:

1) descale your product every 6 months or so. Especially if you live somewhere with hard water. I am lucky to have access to drinkable water but I still run it through a filter before putting it in my kettle. I have noticed when I use water that has sat out in a pitcher overnight I have to descale my product less. You don’t need a fancy solution, just Google a vinegar solution. Tbh, I would recommend this will all products that you run or heat water through to prevent the lime scale/ water mark build up. I think doing this has kept the temperature accurate. I have read that having lime scale and affect the accuracy of the temp read on gadgets.

2) don’t let water sit in it. I know it’s easy to forget or not want to refill the kettle all the time but I use it so much that I have trained myself to empty it like clock work.

3) this goes along with 2 but don’t keep the lid on. I usually empty my kettle and then put the lid next to it to let it air out. I started doing this about 6 months ago and I haven’t had to descale my kettle yet. It’s kept clean and it gives my kettle an opportunity to air out.

4) make sure you don’t spill water on the outside of the kettle when filling it. This one is kind of a no brainer but if you get water on the hot rings, it might stop it from working. Only takes 5 seconds to grab a dish towel and dry the exterior before putting it on the burner.

5) DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN HERE BUT WATER. I don’t think I need to elaborate on this one.

That’s about all I have for now. You take care of her and she will take care of you! I always get compliments on this kettle. She’s sleek, reliable, and fairly priced compared to other “fancier” kettles.

Video is me boiling water to 180 and taking a temp read right after. Still works!

5.0 out of 5 stars Performs Well
Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2024
Affordable and popular. I was reluctant as you rarely see a product meet both categories without some defect. This heats water rapidly to the correct temp. 4 Minutes to boil. Slightly smaller at 800 ml than previous kettles I have owned but the construction appears solid and the handle and spit are configured so pouring is easy. Great for making one or two pour overs. Controls are intuitive and the buttons are soft touch no need for a hard press just touch. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. One noticeable missing feature is most kettles I have owned have a digital reading showing progress of temp as it heats up. However this kettle heats so quickly that it is of little importance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks great in the kitchen

To be honest, basically purchased this one because of the gooseneck, and I knew it would look good in the kitchen. But we use this for French press and hot tea every day and it’s wonderful. The hot water gets hot so fast and it gives a small beep when it’s done also has different temperature settings and it’s small enough to live on the counter Without feeling like it’s in the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Works Well
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2023
The true test, of course, is whether it's still working well in a year. But a few weeks in, I'll say I really like it. It's definitely small capacity. I bought it for pour-over coffee, and I get one cup of coffee out of it. Ok by me, but it's something to be aware of if you're buying this for a large capacity french press or something. Check the stated capacity of this kettle compared to your brewing vessel.

What I really like is the very, very easy and intuitive temperature control system, the fact that the beeps are not very loud, and can be turned off completely, and how quiet it is as it heats. Most kettles get so loud as they heat that I can't hear anything else. Might have something to do with the small capacity, but still, I'm glad it's quiet.

I like it. It's not as nice looking as the Stagg, which is what I wanted for years, with it's wood handle and lid knob. But based on reviews, that wood lid knob regularly cracks wide open, and the cheap plastic display stops working. There were a few too many Stagg reviews with the exact same problems...enough of them that I couldn't justify the price. This was the next-coolest-looking, for less money and with better reviews.

We'll see how things go over time.

ONE YEAR REVIEW
Still going strong.
Pros: pretty much all the above is still true.
Personally I've had none of the issues I see in the 3-and-less-star reviews. Yet.

Cons: It did finally get noisy. Maybe as everything broke in it loosened up a little? Not sure, but now it's the typical, loud kettle.
It does leak a little around the base, only sometimes.
The max fill line is really hard to see. After a while you get a sense of how full is too full, but if you have to rely on seeing the max fill line, it's not easy to make out.
It's started making some loud popping noises when it first starts heating up, and I get the sense it's not just water vaporizing in the base, but larger problems looming. When it makes a loud pop, the typically heating sound goes away for a few seconds, then starts again. So I'm guessing the popping is something starting to go faulty with the heating element.

As some other reviews mention, the buttons don't work when wet. So what. It's an electric base. We should all be trying hard to avoid getting it wet. It works again as soon as it dries.

I see a lot of similar kettles are on the market now. Might be worth exploring other options. But as a lot of us have probably noticed, there's not a huge difference from one to the other. Often, they're made in the same factory in China, with a different name stamped on them, and maybe a couple slight differences in design. But basically the same kettle. I think people's positive and negative experiences come down more to luck of the draw on how well their individual kettle was assembled, how well the circuit board was soldered, etc.
