My hubby love this. It keeps his coffee hot. I was worried at first since it was a cheap price but it worth the purchase. He doesn't have to place his coffee in the microwave to warm back up.

We tried ceramic cups but they didn't heat up well, and the only setting we ever used was 170 because that keeps the coffee hot. The coffee mug warmer has an eighth-inch deep round indentation that fits almost all the cups you'll be using to drink coffee or tea from. And the controls are easily enough used, where you tap until you see the 170 degrees in the display, and to turn off you tap until the display goes out.
One drawback is the cord isn't all that thick for a heating element, so it's VERY SHORT and that is a problem given you are likely sitting at a table so the mug warmer, by necessity, has to be placed at the EDGE of that table (given the table is a few feet in the air already). Which is NOT where you want to place the coffee mug. But you have to.
When you're done, you remove the coffee mug, shut it off and place the rubbery cover back into the circular depression - which keeps you from burning fingers if they accidentally touch the mug warmer while it's cooling down. It would be nice if the rubber cover had a string or some kind of connection to the mug warmer as it has to take another spot on the table every time you remove it as it needs to be nearby. Better if it would just stay attached to the unit with some kind of a tether.
It has plenty of cooling holes on the bottom so the tablecloth doesn't get hot, which I worried about in the plastic tablecloth shown in the photos - but unnecessarily so. It doesn't get hot on the bottom. Just the top.
I don't mess with the timer as I just shut it off when I'm done, but if I forget, it's nice to know the timer will shut it off. If only it had a longer cord...
