    I bought this for my daughter and she loves that it is programmable so that her coffee is ready in the busy morning when getting kids ready for school. It makes good coffee with a permanent filter, saves money on paper filters, and takes up little space in a small kitchen.

    The perfect coffee maker for a one to two person household. I love the Brew Later feature. I set it for 4:45 am and my coffee is ready and waiting for me. I love the reusable filter too. It is very easy to setup the clock and the Brew Later feature. The Brew Now feature is great for on demand. Its speed of brewing is fine in my opinion because this is brew coffee. The temp is fine but I do like my coffee super hot so I have always heated it further in the microwave. No concerns with the taste of the coffee either. The coffee pot handle feels substantial. Really pleased.

    I have been using pod coffee makers for many years. Good coffee, but expensive, and instantaneous coffee making had me building a six cup a day habit. $22 for a bulk carton of pods, a 2 week supply, was costly and not great for my blood pressure.

    I purchased the Mr. Coffee Programmable Coffee Maker to make coffee a more deliberate task, and to reduce cost. It takes approx 5 minutes to brew coffee with the Mr. Coffee unit. So, I start coffee while cooking breakfast.

    The $22 box of pods has been replaced with an $8 - $10 bag of good ground coffee. Consumption has been reduced to 2 cups a day, about what one carafe holds. The $22 box of pods lasted two weeks, the $10 bag last for a month.

    The flavor and strength of coffee is excellent. The permanent filter slows water flow through the coffee for a more uniform brew, and keep grounds out of a cup. The charcoal filter works well for removing suspended particles from well water.

    I plan on trying paper filters, in place of the permanent metal and charcoal filters, to see how they effect taste. Paper filters do a better job of removing lipids from brewed coffee, oils that can elevate LDL cholesterol.

    I like it.

    Edit: reduced one star, because I have been unable to locate replacement 2" charcoal water filters. Universal fit Mr. Coffee filters are twice the size and do not work. Also unable to get assistance on this issue though company's customer service.

    Just got my coffee pot and made my first coffee. No issues using the pot. Coffee tasted good. It was hot. I used paper filters and the water filter that came with the pot on top of the basket. I like that the coffee pot does takes little room on my counter.

    This is the second one I’ve bought of these small, programmable Mr.Coffee machines, and I’m quite happy! The last was a very different design and this one very much improves upon the old design flaws. I don’t drink enough coffee to have a big 12 cup, not to mention the price is significantly higher for the full size version of the programmable models. I can never get the right amount of water and coffee ground ratio when trying to make less than a full pot with those bigger ones, HATED the “name brand” single serve coffee “pod” machine, so I switched to this little guy here. The first (er, last?) I bought spring 2020 and served me well until I accidentally left a basket of grounds in it and it went moldy while I was in hospital for four days at the outset of 2023. I tried to clean it with vinegar, even full strength, but unfortunately the mold infiltrated the water line from the reservoir to the “drip,” so with no way to get a straw brush into it to clean it, I had to order a new one. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this still came with the reusable filter which helps in making nice, strong coffee, and that the MSRP hadn’t gone up too much since inflation hit the market hard over the last few years. This one happened to come with a charcoal “water filter,” and that was the only negative about this. The filter doesn’t seem to be replaceable since I could only find the size for the 12 cup models, not the mini size needed for this little 5cup model, and the very first time I used the coffee maker, the filter caused the reusable filter to overflow with grounds ending up in my pot, AND the filter fell apart with the paper discs that held the charcoal in place pulling out of their slot in the filter ring. Other than that, this will always be my go-to coffee maker for everyday use! Thank you Mr. Coffee!

    I’ve had Mr. Coffee coffee makers for years. I bought this one when my 4 cup Mr. Coffee finally stopped working after many years of great service. The first thing I noticed was that I have to buy my filters on Amazon because the filters you buy in the grocery store are too tall for the filter basket. I had to trim the tops off of the remaining filters I had in order to use them up. The carafe has two problems - it dribbles down the side when you pour your coffee unless you pour very slowly and I have coffee stains on the inside of the glass carafe that can’t be scrubbed off with dish soap and scouring sponge. I haven’t tried it yet, but I will try cleaning it with vinegar to see if that will remove the stains.
    The positives are that it makes a great cup of coffee and I like the auto set feature. The filters are the biggest issue for me and once this Mr. Coffee bites the dust I will probably buy a different coffee maker brand that can use store bought filters.

    Perfect for one person; it makes two-plus good-sized mugs, and keeps it warm for two hours. I haven’t timed it but I’ve never thought it took too long to brew. It does drip a little bit; I keep a towel on hand to mop up errant drops to keep the heat pad clean but it’s a small price to pay for the feature I love: a two-hour timer. I’m very happy with this purchase.
