For our needs, this 7-qt Crock Pot is just what we need. Its a good size, we do not need a timer, we decided, and it performs as expected. The price point is very good for the brand. Most of the time we use our small appliances until they wear out, so we expect we will have this for many years. We are retired, but we like to cook enough for freezer meals or company. (We had our old crock pot for 14 years and we had a lapse in judgement and ordered another brand with a timer, locking lid and 3 temp settings. And it was 3 times the cost of this one I'm reviewing. See note below.)
SO, this Crock Pot that arrived a few days ago got a trial run with chicken wild rice soup cooked on low for 8 hours, and it passed with flying co!ors.
Note: The more expensive Kitchenaid slow cooker we bought almost a year ago with more features -- it took us awhile/too long to realize that the low setting was way too low, resulting in ruined and undercooked dinners. We can't return it, so it'll only be used as an occasional extra appliance on the high setting for soups or chili.
