5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, but avoid reheating any remaining coffee later in the day.
Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2024
This is my third percolater. Works fine for brewing, and the "keep warm" feature does just fine. I would drink about 5 1/2 cups, then unplug it, remove the basket, intending to save the remaining coffee for later. The coffeepot does not reheat well. Reheat starts off cold in the "percolate" cycle. With the basket and pump rod not in the pot, the cold coffee boils violently, even splashing out through the spout. If the pot is close to empty, it never changes to "keep warm" and boils itself dry, overheats and the non-replaceable internal safety/fire fuse blows thus rendering the coffeepot forever dead. Good thing I kept a spare pot on hand. So reheat using your microwave oven instead!

Update 2/13/24: If no microwave is available you can reheat with the percolator by doing this: Make sure there is more than two cups of brewed coffee in the pot. Reinstall the EMPTY basket/lid/pump tube and make sure the percolator is cool. Plug it in and it will go through the percolate cycle -- it doesn't know it is simply reheating! Bonus: If you need hot water to make hot tea, just "percolate" water through the EMPTY basket! Try putting tea bag(s), or loose tea in the basket? Haven't tried brewing tea yet.

This "little perker" is just right for one or two people who are too busy to wait and make coffee.
It brews FAST! Wonderful fresh brewed coffee. What I really like is not having a reservoir of water sitting on my counter. I make a pot and clean it up. No standing water. Clean up is easy too!

I’m excited about coffee again I had one of those single serving things I forget they’re called you by the pod and you put it in and you know it just felt like it’s time went on the coffee was no longer hot and there was grounds in the coffee it was a nightmare. I gave it away to my handyman with all the accessories I had bought to go with it, and I got me this little percolator And oh my goodness if you want hot coffee, you’re gonna get really hot coffee if you want your house to fill up with the aroma of percolated Folgers or whatever brand of coffee you like that’s just what you’re going to get no more filters just this little percolator it makes the most perfect coffee in the world and smells amazing . !!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great coffee only lasts 2 years

This is my third time buying this percolator. While the coffee is great and it’s easy to use, it only lasts for 2 yrs. After the two year mark the coffee does not taste good and then one day ,when you plug it in, it will not work.

5.0 out of 5 stars The size and performance

Great little electric percolator for one person. I personally prefer coffee brewed in a percolator, and I only drink it in the morning. I also don’t care for “old” coffee - coffee that has been sitting there awhile - so this is nice. I like the size for this reason.
The unit has no lights or any settings, just plug it in to brew your coffee and then unplug it when you are done. If you wanted to, you could use it with a timer.
I also like the fact that it brews my 4 cups in about 5 minutes.
No complaints.

1.0 out of 5 stars complete trash BUT only slightly high price as just a pour-over pitcher
Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2024
i bought this july 2023. this review is march 2024.

this item makes TRASH COFFEE *but* it is only a slightly high price for a pitcher to make excellent pour-over coffee if you prefer steel over glass (which i do) and more than a single cup at a time.

this is my first percolator. i was coming off trader joe's instant coffee since working from home in our covid-endemic era. at my office, i drank the peet's brewed in the kitchen. instant tj is an ok approximation to peet's brewed cos at least it is wayyyy better than folger's.

at first this percolator coffee tasted fine (amazon, starbucks, peet's, dunkin) cos it tasted like tj instant and i'd already adjusted myself down to that flavor/quality.

issue 1: after a while, i wanted afternoon coffee so i made a pour-over cup and discovered what incredible trash coffee this percolator makes. same grinds had AMAZING flavor as pour-over but were only a moderately acceptable instant-like flavor from the percolator.

SAME GRINDS.

issue 2: the bottom has straight slits (same as the spreader/basket lid) instead of holes and they became clogged so i ordered filters which caused the coffee to come out GOLDEN. since i can't see the percolator operate, i speculate that the water either (1) never enters the basket and instead flows out the wide gap along the rim of the spreader, OR (2) enters the basket but passes over the folded filter top (which filter has holes at the four corners to specifically fold over the straw) and exits through the slits along the top side of the basket (never actually reaching the bottom of the basket).

CONFIRMATION:
today i poured the percolator's golden water into an electric kettle, let the percolator cool to remove its lid, boiled the golden water, and poured it over the spreader myself. i made sure the water never exited the wide gap along the rim of the spreader (speculation #1).

COFFEE STILL GOLDEN. i didn't observe whether the water flowed through the slits along the top side of the basket (speculation #2) but i was super mad so didn't even try to use the spreader again.

instead, i again poured the percolator's golden water into my electric kettle, boiled the golden water, and unfolded the top of the filter -- and poured the boiling golden water directly over the grinds (not over filter paper) -- and got AMAZING POUR-OVER COFFEE.

this percolator makes (1) trash coffee without a filter, and (2) golden coffee with a filter.

btw the filters are 'Melitta White Wrap Around Coffee Filter for Percolator' and i'm returning them cos they brew golden coffee.

i will use this percolator as a pour-over pitcher. i will use my steel pour-over cone with its filters (no percolator basket, no percolator straw).

conclusion
THIS PERCOLATOR IS TRASH but a $60 pitcher if you prefer steel over glass (and more one pour-over cup) is pretty much as good as it gets cos i don't even see any others.

oh well.

Percolated coffee taste is soooo much better than single serve makers! Coffee is less costly than pods with more variety including fresh grounds. I purchased the 8 cup size and it’s the perfect size for daily use but large enough for a group. Stays hot, easy to clean, finish stays shiny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Faberware coffee pot have always been my favorite coffee makers.
Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2024
My first one over 20 years old was a 12 cup and it suited the needs of a larger family. I then decided to buy a 4 cup one and realize it's great for a single person who loves coffee. Finally I bought an 8 cup one and it was perfect. I was so pleased with it I bought a second one. The first one is in the main kitchen for morning use and the second one in the small kitchen. I have both of them sit on Alexa to start brewing at the appropriate time. Faberware products are fantastic and last a very long time. My pan set is over 25 years old and still cleans and looks new.
