Looks good, heats water pretty fast! High capacity. The cover 'clicks' shut, and I appreciate that feature given how hot water gets.

Super easy to use. Lights are nice. I'm getting spots in mine from hard water but that's nothing the product can control. I love this product!

Essential convenience for all types of households!

Great for hot chocolate, tea, packaged soups, instant noodles, and anything else that requires quick access to boiling water!

Normally, boiling water requires a stove and a kettle.

-Sometimes, stoves aren't available (offices, college dorms, RV's, etc.)
-Kettles have small openings and are hard to clean
-Metal kettles usually don't have any measurement markings for water level

This kettle boils water faster and easier than a traditional stovetop kettle!
All it needs is a regular power outlet!
Plus, this one is made of clear glass with easy to use measurement markings that let you choose exactly how much boiling water to prepare.

The wide opening on top makes it easy to add water or clean.
NOT dishwasher safe! Keep that in mind!

The blue lights on the bottom and auto shut-off are convenient features that let you know when the water is ready.

A good brand name, and definitely an essential item for tea lovers!

Solid, reliable, easy to clean, but I don’t like the lid

I’ve had this about a year now and I make tea or hot chocolate almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. So I have quite a bit of experience with this kettle.

Generally, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s easy to use, quick, reliable, and fairly easy to clean. The water heats up fast. It works first time, every time with daily use. I can fit my fat paws inside to clean it out and we have hard water here, so cleaning it regularly is key.

My one mild/minor complaint is the lid. I burn my hand regularly trying to get it open. It gets very hot of course. When you press the button to open the lid, it only opens maybe 20 or 30 degrees, not the full 90 degrees. Trying to grab the lid to open it fully will burn my hand. So I use the edge of a spoon or something else to pop the lid open the rest of the way. I’ve seen other kettles that fully open the lid with the button. I think I’d look for that feature next time.

That said, I’d buy this again because it does what it’s supposed to do fairly well.

I only replaced this kettle because my in-laws dropped it and the glass shattered. However, I purchased my initial one back in 2014. Lasted 9 years and 4 moves and I'm sure would have lasted even longer. I like the glass because I can easily see if it needs to be descaled, how close it is to boiling, and its just so pretty at night in a dim kitchen. And the opening is plenty wide to give it a good scrub too. Hopefully won't need to purchase one again in the next decade, but I know I'll return to this brand and this kettle again (so long as it's still produced).

Didn’t fit properly

I have had this model Hamilton Beach Electric Tea Kettle for over 5+ years, loved it and used it everyday! It was getting rusty around the metal on the top and handle, and bottom was clouding up too often, needing cleaning too often also. Because I loved the kettle so much I decide it was time to replace it. Of course, Amazon carried it and had reduced the price so I decided to send for it.
I received it the next day. I was so happy to have received it and get the water boiling again for a cup of tea. I put some water in it to boil before using it for tea, well….the kettle did not fit on the base properly, it was unsteady and wobbled! Since I had one I knew how they fit and work! I knew it was defective so I contacted Amazon and explained the issue; they sent a replacement out that I received the next day! Took it out of the box that was banged up and set it up; once again the kettle did not fit snuggly on the base and wobbled worse than the previous one!! I am returning both of them as they are defective and are an injury waiting to happen! I am extremely disappointed as I have other Hamilton Beach products I am happy with but, not this tea kettle! I’m wondering because the price as reduced if this was a truckload of defective kettles and the manufacturer gave a good price to Amazon. I would not recommend purchasing this particular model, as great as it use to be,
it’s not worth the time or money to order.
I have also reached out to the manufacturer due to the faulty product fit so, I’ll see if I get a response from them! I’m happy to say Amazon backs their customers!
