1.0 out of 5 stars Burned out in 4 months

Loved this product at first. It seemed perfect for my needs of daily smoothies and ease of cleaning. Loved the cup system for converting the jar itself into a drinkable cup, and that I could throw the cups and lids into the dishwasher for cleaning. I even bought a second set of cups for use after a few weeks. However after a few months of daily use, making 2 smoothies (ice + frozen strawberries + spinach + protein powder and milk) for myself and husband the noise of the blender greatly increased and eventually a burning smell accompanied any use... it was no longer operable. Not sure if it was a lemon or somehow user error but was very disappointed ????

1.0 out of 5 stars Warm or cool smoothies only!

Even with proper layering of frozen fruits and a sufficient amount of liquid without going past the max line, it still can't blend. The motor audibly struggles with simple frozen fruit and doesn't allow the unleaded fruit to make it to the bottom blades. I have the nutribullet pro and it powers through everything i give it amazingly, has a larger body/container so more servings, more stylish looking, the fruit drops as it blends, and has a locking blend (which the ninja doesn't have). Overall, I will be returning this item ASAP and using those funds to purchase another nutribullet pro.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective

During the second time using this item, the blades flew off, and the blender portion completely fell apart. There was also a thick black residue that wore off from plastic. It's a shame, because my first use was quite good and the containers are really nice, but very I'm quite disappointed that it was defective, so quickly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Won't last... 4 months for me.

First of all this blender is very powerful... which is why it breaks so easily. There are parts inside of this that cannot handle the power and eventually break down. I make smoothies every morning literally bananas, frozen strawberries, milk and peanut butter... the blender started making louder noises the first month but today it really sounded bad... when I moved it back to under the cabinet, it left a bunch of shredded metal. When I picked it up there is something rattling in the base. This is my second Ninja blender with quality issues. Guess I am going to spend the money for Vitamix next.

1.0 out of 5 stars Noisy
Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2023
The blades are super sharp, do a great job at extracting and making smoothies. I will not buy again, very noisy!! It’s mostly plastic, sounds like it is going to break at any time. I thought it being a ninja it would’ve been very sturdy, it’s not. I’ve used it twice and it’s very easy to clean. I would not recommend this to anyone. I’m tempted to send it back. I’ve had a Neutra bullet for over four years now and I like it a lot better than the ninja. The Neutra bullet is very quiet. You can have it on pulse or turn it and lock it into continuous. The ninja does not give you that option. I am very dissatisfied . Think twice before you buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great when it works
Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2022
Failed after 10 days. Returning to Amazon for replacement. Excellent customer service from Amazon. You can see in 1 star reviews that this is a problem with this unit. The machine fails to recognize the cup and if you press start you just get two flashing bars. I tried both cups, neither was recognized. The IQ smoothie button is great and really makes the best smoothies. I have a Vitamix 7500 Professional 1440 watts, this is 1100w. I much preferred using this to the Vitamix which is currently $559. But the Vitamix has worked flawlessly for years and this lasted 10 days. Hopefully, I just got a lemon. I liked it enough to give it a second try. I will update my review accordingly. Someone else here had it happen to them twice, others had it happen way past return and had to deal with Ninja which doesn't sound like it went too well in some cases. Other options here are the Nutribullet Pro 900w for $110, or if you own a Vitamix buy the 32 oz container which is $149 on the Vitamix site but Amazon has for $111. Fingers crossed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Moldy gasket in less than a week
Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2023
The silicone ring seal inside of the lid grows mold very quickly. Ours arrived on 10 January, and the attached picture of the moldy silicone gasket seal was taken on 16 January. It was used exactly four times, and we rinsed the top/blade thoroughly before washing it in our dishwasher after every use—exactly how the instructions said. Other than a poor lid design it’s a very good blender. Blends like a dream. But the moldy rubber gasket + the difficulty to remove it and clean it and then reinsert it into the lid after every use is a deal breaker.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a Disappointment
Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2024
I had the old Ninja and loved it. After many years of making my smoothies every morning, the engine burned up. I ordered the new one. Here are the problems: 1-the cups hold less than the old one. 2-doesn't fit all my ingredients in one shot. 3-narrow cups so they are harder to clean. 4-the mouth of the lids is oddly shaped and hard to drink from--the old ones were easy to use. 5-the blades are closer to the frame so it's harder to get under them to clean. PRODUCT FAIL. Why not consult users FIRST.
