So I was checking on a different brand of the same product when I noticed a different brand with features like temperature control and a timer on sale for the same price as this one. However in my impulsive rush to purchase the fancier unit I somehow managed to click on and purchase this unit. That being said it works wonderfully at keeping my coffee comfortably hot. I have not used it more than 3 hours yet, nor have I had any trouble with the heating surface. I will note 2 things though. One as noted by other reviewers, for maximum effectiveness you need to use a flat bottom coffee cup. Anything fancy or rimmed will not be heated as well. Also I've learned if you use an insulated or vacuum sealed mug that will actually work against you. The mug will get hot whilst the coffee will cool off. So yeah I was surprised when I opened it up and it was not the other brand with the fancier features, but hey if you have a finger and a heartbeat you can operate this thing.

Without exaggeration I've collected easily more than fifty coffee mugs over the years. Not to mention all the fancy coffee/tea cups the wife has with her sets. None of them are flat bottomed. As far as the Mug warmer it works fine and I read before buying about the need for a flat bottom the cup/mug. My coffee does not get quite as warm as I would like (standard non flat mug) but it does save me trips to the microwave. Overall compact, nice looking and performs as advertised.

I like HOT coffee/tea so I bought this but it only keeps it warm! I still have to use a microwave to heat it to my liking… yes I use a lid! This is cool if you just want warm. Waited to use it and window gone to return or I would!

I have been using this "mug warmer" for over three weeks now and I have to say it is the most disappointing electronic device I have ever purchased. I have tried several different mugs, but nothing seems to matter. At BEST, things are kept lukewarm. Sadly, there is only one setting "on and off" and no timer, so once you turn it on, it stays on. SAVE YOUR MONEY! I AM SENDING IT BACK!
