This AZEUS electric kettle is an excellent deal! I'm very impressed that one can get such a polished product for so little money now...this kettle replaced a basic stainless steel kettle I bought maybe 8 years ago, but had started to have some issues with failing to stay on through a boil, and a crack was starting to form, so it was time for a replacement. Despite being notably less money than my former kettle had cost me, this kettle from AZEUS seems to be at least as good of quality - in fact, I'd say it's a bit better in a few key ways.

One thing that immediately stood out to be about this kettle is the WIDE opening. This is awesome - nearly the entire top opens up, which has not been the case of any electric kettle I've previously owned or used. In my experience, kettles tend to require bottle-cleaning brushes because the opening is too small to fit my hand and arm into. Not so with this kettle, which, even someone like me with rather large hands, am able to clean inside with a standard dish sponge, which is very convenient, and enables a wider choice of scrubbing tools when dealing with the effects of hard water in the future (one day I'll get a centralized water softener, but until then, removing hard water buildup is a fact of life - at least this kettle makes it easy!)

The other nice thing about this kettle that differs from others I've used is the degree of thermal insulation. Whereas my former kettle would get hot to the touch all over, this one really does not. Immediately after boiling a full pot of water (which only about six minutes - quite quick, and much more efficient than the stove, which is part of what makes electric kettles such a great investment! You can even use them to give something like boiling water for pasta, which does have to be on the stove, a big head start by boiling whatever portion will fit in the kettle, then pouring it into the pot back on the stove), anyway, back to the point I was making about this kettle's thermal insulation...even right after boiling the full 1.8L of water, the sides of the kettle are not hot. I don't know if this is due to using plastic for the outer layer (while still utilizing stainless steel for the inner layer, where the water is actually heated and stored), and extra-large air-gap, some combination of the two, or if there is additional insulating material inside that I'm not even aware of - whatever they've done here, it works well! This feature makes this kettle a particularly wise choice for anyone who happens to have young children around, since they will be far less likely to burn themselves with this than your typical kettle.

Overall, the AZEUS electric kettle looks good, works well, is a good size, and a great price. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for an electric kettle - you will not be disappointed!

Pretty on the countertop. It heats fast. Easy clean and comes with a sponge on a stick to clean it with. I don't know what more you could want. It was well worth the money.

We have been using the kettle for the past few days now and we like it so far! 1.8L is bigger than our previous water kettle and it was more affordable too. Heats up the water pretty quickly and it also has a sleek design, which makes it look nicer than our previous water kettle. The one complaint is that we have is that sometimes opening the lid is a little difficult. You have to cover the entire button with your finger to open which my parents find a little annoying. However, at the price point, design, and capacity, I think that this kettle is very nice and worth the money!

1.0 out of 5 stars ????????FIRE HAZARD????????‼️ ????And It leaks????‼️
Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2021
    ????✍????Update:
I purchased another different water boiler, and it arrived today. But that brand has a thin cord. This particular boiler has a thick and firm cord. So after comparing cords, they both have the same wattage and voltage, and both connect the same way to the heating elements...I decided to switch cords. When I opened the round base of this water boiler, I discovered the inside of the base is charred and melted, and the clip where the wire is connected to the element, AND the element connection are both charred black The OUTSIDE of the base, however, doesn't appear melted. I inspect it every time I use it; especially since I have to squeegee all the water off the countertop into the sink, anyway. So this heating element actually presented as a fire hazard without my knowledge; would I had not considered switching cords, I would've never known how dangerous it was. Thank goodness the lid did break, because it could've caught my house on fire, AND the two houses on either side, which are only a few feet away.

I don't know if it's because the water leaked so much, or because the black (live) wire appears to be pinched and perhaps created a short, ... or maybe it's a combination of both. But something caused the wire to overheat and plastic to melt. This also explains why it's tripped my GFCI outlet a few times. I just assumed it was caused by an overload of power, even though the only other working device on that line of outlets is the garbage disposal, which wasn't running at the time.

The reason the wire is so thick is because it includes a green grounding wire, which my new water boiler cord does not include. I don't know if I should be thankful this one had a grounding wire, or if I should be suspicious about why they included a grounding wire, in the first place.. I've read other reviews complaining about their leaking water boiler; but at the time, I shrugged it off, assuming they were occasional mishaps possibly caused by mishandle of use.

When I initially purchased this boiler, they contacted me several times via email asking me to leave a review. I have to wonder if their eagerness for a review was generated by the fact that this is a great water boiler starting out. But as time passes, the boiler begins to leak and presents as a fire hazard.

Buyer, beware! Even if you think it's safe, it could be hiding a very serious fire hazard!

    ????✍????Older review:

I've had this water boiler a little over a year. It's been slowly leaking little by little until now there's a puddle of about three tablespoons every time I boil water. The handle came loose. The top button stopped working, so I have to stick a butter knife in, and push back on, the white clip holding it shut each time I want to open the lid. I'm now searching for a new water boiler. Instinct tells me "Buy the same one and use parts of the old one when the new one breaks". Common sense tells me, "Buy one that won't break, and you won't need to hoard the old broken pot pieces". I should listen to common sense this time.
