I purchased this to make jam, worked like a champ to blend the large fruit pieces into nice small pieces. It could even purée if that’s what you want. Today was my first day using it and it broke down my peaches that I only halved when the recipe called for them to be cut into small squares. Saved me a lot of time. Wonder if anyone has tried this for mashed potatoes.

This is a case where the product is as good as its name. It's a KitchenAid. Yes it's corded, not battery powered, but it works very well and it is powerful. I use it for blending crushed tomatoes for making a pomodoro sauce, and it purees the tomatoes perfectly. Tonight I used it for making a hollandaise sauce from scratch, using the blending jar that I thought I would never use. The sauce came out perfectly. It was light and creamy.

Criticisms? First, the blender arm is advertized to be dishwasher safe. In my opinion, do so at your own risk. It's easy to hand clean without submersing it completely. I'm sure the seals are good, but I want mine to last a long time. Second, the pan guard is a bit dodgy. It doesn't seat very well at the end of the blender arm. It's fine for occasional or rare use. If you think you need a pan guard, I'd recommend blending in something that isn't delicate. This blender is so good that I'd look for another blending vessel before going to a different blender. I would guess the only real issue is with non-stick cookware.

Would I recommend it? Yes! If I had to buy another immersion blender, I'd purchase this one again.

This KitchenAid immersion hand blender is a game changer for me. I make smoothies daily and it blends perfectly. If you’re in a market for a hand blender, this is the one to buy. Highly recommends it for its quality, design, power, and the variable one touch speeds is a great way to blend and puree.

I had an old Braun immersion blender that quit working, so I bought this Kitchen Aid blender. Its body and blades are all heavy duty metal. It’s very well made, easy to clean, has variable speeds and is corded. It even comes with a 3-cup blending container with lid and a protector for blending in pans. And it matches my red Kitchen Aid mixer! I use it every day for making meal replacement protein shakes. I look forward to many years of great service from this Kitchen Aid product!

I have only used it twice. It did a good job for the soup... it's very powerful.. and beautiful. However, for smoothies I rather like the blender. Yes, the very old model Oster which I love. Regarding the 3-cup BPA-free jar with lid that came with the hand blender ..... The lid does NOT work. It does NOT close, it's slightly wider. Too bad, it would have been useful to store remaining soup.

We bought this to replace an older Cuisinart blender. This was more sturdy than the one we previously used. The part seem to be well constructed and fit very tight.

The guard that is available to put on the bottom allows you to use it in non-stick surfaces that can't handle metal when you are using them to blend hot soups or sauces. This is a nice touch since the wand is full metal.

The motor is powerful. Also while there are three speeds you can vary the depth that you push the button and the motor is an infinite variations of speeds.

The blade at the bottom isn't just a flat blade there are the two main blades plus two other notches closer to the axis of the blender. This allows for more movement of your product being Blended through the blades so it mixes more evenly and faster.

As an added bonus it comes with a mixing cup that fits perfectly for whipping small batches of eggs or whipped cream or smoothies.

I bought this to help prep tomatoes into a sauce for canning. Worked like a charm. I left the skins on and you'd never know it. Use the attachment to prevent suction on the bottom of your pot. And be careful! Those little blades are SHARP!
