5.0 out of 5 stars Really fun beginner friendly or project guitar at a great price.

This is a really fun beginner friendly or project guitar. The body is a wavy SG type and it functions just as solidly as a regular SG. The neck is great and very playable, wonderful for smaller hands. Guitar holds a tuning well, can be easily change From standard to D with very little fuss. It's pretty. Very little fret buzz and intonates well. The electronics are solid, it comes with a three-way switch and no line hum. The stock pickups are lovely, they aren't too hot or soft.

You are good to go out of the box. But, there's room to upgrade the tuning pegs, the pots, dials, pickups and so on. This is a very respectable instrument. It would be great as most anyone's first guitar.

It is a wonderful practice or project guitar. You will have a difficult time beating it for the price.
It is light and fun to play.

The paint is shiny and is more like a metallic dark slate or very dark gun metal color, which is even better than expected. There is only one flaw in the finish at the top of the neck pickup (see pic), it looks like they naught have over tightened the screw, but it took me a little time to even notice and it doesn’t bother me.
The neck is easy to play with total clearance to the 22nd fret. The neck feels like an older style Jackson neck and fretboard. Has stainless medium/jumbo frets that are rounded on the ends, but even smoother feeling than others I’ve played recently. The inlay work is fantastic and like you’ll see in a guitar 4x this price.
There is a serious amount of buzzing coming from 1-4 frets on all strings because the nut isn’t properly filed down. Also the intonation on the D and A strings is off slightly. And a few frets need to be leveled. Not a big deal for me because I’m going to change strings and set everything up properly.
If you are getting this for a beginner you should definitely have someone set it up for you and it’ll play like a dream.

Well worth the money and a great playing guitar at any skill level.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great price. Fit and Finish could be better.
Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2024
For the price, this guitar is very nice.

The fit and finish, however, is not great. The binding on the bass side of the neck at the first few frets was very rough — though the rest of the binding was smooth. This could have been fixed in a couple of minutes, but for some reason was not. The finish on the back of the guitar near the strap button and on the horns was also not fully buffed out for some reason. Finally, the frets were not leveled as well as they should have been, leading to random buzzing notes throughout the fingerboard. Although there are issues, they can be addressed.

That said, the guitar is very resonant and sounds quite good unplugged. Plugged in, the pickups are not bad (especially considering the price). As a beginner's guitar they will certainly get the job done.

The switch and pots are smooth. The tuners get the job done, though they do feel a little loose when tuning the guitar. The bridge does its job, and the intonation was good and the action was low.

The neck is a medium C profile (0.85" @ the 1st fret, 0.91" @ the 12th fret) at least on the guitar that I received. It is not too thin. It fills the hand comfortably.

For the price, it is quite nice. It even compares favorably with some higher priced instruments. It would be nice to see an option to bundle the guitar with a gig bag or case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sounds as good as it looks. Looks awesome!!

Did I get lucky again or just get a great model shipped to me. I have no idea but if this is typical West Creek guitars I will be buying more of them.
1) Looks-4.5 stars, The guitar is sleek and gorgeous. High gloss body with chrome hardware and binding on the neck, matching color headstock. Only deducting a half a star because the neck pocket was not finished sanding before color and clear applied and the "bondo" used to make the joint from neck to body has some flaws that could have been sanded out first. Frets are ball end and smooth as glass. Impressed with them.
2) Sound-5 stars. This thing growls like the much more expensive American made model it is loosely copying. Seriously if sound was patented for musical instruments like it is for Harleys, These guys would be in trouble. I will NOT be changing out the pickups on this. I thought that I would when I bought it but not any more. Neck pickup is microphonic but rolling back the volume and staying away from the front of the amp cures any issues and does little to nothing to affect the sound.
3) Setup-4 stars. Nothing out of the box is perfect, even a setup guitar might not be set up how the individual player likes it. Being said, Intonation was so close that I could adjust my finger pressure and keep it in tune up the neck. The nut could use a very slight touch up but only a few thousandths, they are very close. I will mess with it after I change strings to my liking. Still using the stock ones and they play fine. E and A strings will slightly buzz at higher frets. Something I will address after I put a new set of strings on.
4) Electronics- 4 stars. Only issues I have are the microphonic neck pickup and the 3 way switch clicks through the amp if you change positions too hard in the heat of playing. If you leave it in one position not a problem.
I have not pulled the back cover off yet to see what it was built with, I am having too much fun playing it. I almost don't want to because I don't want to be disappointed even though I am very happy with the sound and quality for now

5.0 out of 5 stars There's no reason it should be this cheap!

Right out of the box, no set up needed. Low action. Fret board is smooth, small neck so it's easy to navigate. Humbuckers sound great. Inlays look awesome. Only thing I would change out, is I would upgrade the tuners and change the strings. Strings feel cheap and tuners are a but loose, but that's nothing to complain about compared to the quality and price of this guitar. I've spent 3 grand on a guitar and I'll just as likely play this one on stage as I do the others. I love the sound. I'm amazed it doesn't cost more. This is a great guitar and I've already recommended and showed my friends and they agree. I would add a picture but for some reason Amazon is not allowing me to add one one.
