Awesome bass and clearly the best 6 string for the money. I just recommend getting it set up at your local music shop before you plan on playing any shows. The first fret on every string is pretty sloppy due to the low action, but the tone on this beast is indestructible. This bass is pretty heavy in weight too but you should expect that from any 6 string. The neck is easy to maneuver with, and for anybody who likes slapping, it is extremely easy to adjust to whether your used to a four or five string. I'd also recommend switching out the batteries because the ones that came stock were basically dead. In all honesty you might want to buy this instrument from an actual music site because they sent me an omen 5 at first, and I was pretty pissed. Over all this bass is an awesome choice, and anything within comparable price won't come close.

Finding a left handed six string is slightly tougher than spotting a unicorn in the wild, so I was willing to make concessions as far as the specifics of a bass went as long as I mostly got what I needed. The Studio 6 nailed it, well above expectations. It sounds clear and smooth with more than adequate range of options in EQ and without a lot of electronics noise. For it's size, it's not as heavy as expected and it plays comfortably. I have no reservations in giving this 5 stars.

This bass is incredible. The other reviews describe it so well I only wish to add that the bass's action and response is so smooth. The 3-Band EQ gives plenty of pre-gain control and the finish is absolutely gorgeous.

This is a neck-through, 6 string bass on a 35 inch scale with EMG-45 humbucking pickups with an 18v active 3 band preamp. The controls are Master Volume, Blend, Treble, Midrange and Bass.

The neck is Maple/Walnut Multi-ply w/ Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Rods. The body is Mahogany with Quilted Maple with a Bubinga top. The finish is Honey Satin finish which makes the neck fast and smooth. The hardware is satin finish gold.

The sound of this bass is typical humbucking sound for a bass, but the 18v preamp gives the bottom end some real punch. It does not fade out as you go down to the low B. I have even detuned the B string to an A and it held the volume when played. The high C string comes through clear too. The combination of a Master volume and a blend control allows you to easily change your tone without affecting the volume.

The Neck-Through construction combined with the choice of maple and walnut give great sustain. Even playing unplugged, the bass vibrates my chest when playing it.

The big downside is the weight of this bass. 16.4 pounds! Which I think is why they rate this as a studio bass. I could not imagine playing this standing up. Even sitting down, you need a padded strap to keep the weight of this bass from cutting off the circulation in your legs!

Schecter has lowered the list price of this bass down to $799, which should lower the prices on a lot of retailers. Right now (as I write this), AMS, Amazon, and MF have it listed for $799 still, but I think that price will drop soon.

One thing for sure, it is a looker. I have had more compliments on this bass than any other bass I have played.

This is a great sounding, easy to play 6 string. With the neck thru design, it holds great sustain, and it has a very shapable tone with it's passive pickup/ active eq. The neck is slim, so playing fast isn't an issue. Prior to purchasing this, I played on the Stiletto Studio 5, and apart from the added string and neck size, the only difference I can note is that it has a slight bit less low end than the 5 string model. (Which is only because of the neck size) It's something that can be easily fixed though, just by adjusting the eq, or running it through a bbe sonic maximizer or an electro harmonix knockout. I'm incredibly happy with this bass, it's held up in home, the studio, and on the road. I've been playing on mine for over 8 years now, and it's never given me any issue.

My only real complaint, I wish Schecter would pull their heads out of their asses and offer this bass in black for left handed players.
